Rui was a waste of money too. I love him as a player but it's undeniable it was bad business just like Ronaldinho. Milan need to stop paying big money for players on there decline.
See there are a few major problems with your sheva analogy
1) in 2002 sheva was 26
2) Sheva had already been at milan 3 full seasons before hand and proven his worth to the club

BTW those two slow midfielders are 2 best passers in serie A. Ibra thrives off there long ball service. Particularly Pirlo. Pirlo was great in area season and developed a great understanding with Ibra. Pretty obvious too, Pirlo loves lofting the long ball and having a target like Ibra makes it easy.
Who would I rather have for that money? No one. I'd rather spend it in midfield or defense. It's not a steal. His wages are high and he's turning 30. I'd rather spend 35 mil on neymar, because his long term potential + lower wages (so fee can be higher and it's essentially same cost) and milan will be able to sell him for a profit to spain or england in future if they want. By the way for that same money, i'v;e been saying all along. WE should have got Suarez. A player on the rise.
Atleast 18 mil for Robinho made sense. He was 26, we're getting his prime and minimum 5 good years.
