Why ?
With a guy like Robben, you allow Allegri to have two formations !!
The current one with a central AM and two strikers, and another one with why not Emmanuelson or Robinho on the left and Robben on the right, with one or two strikers in front (depending on the choice between Robinho and Emmanuelson, if Robinho, you use a trident Robinho-Striker-Robben, if Emmanuelson, it's a kind of simple 4-4-2 with Emmanuelson on the left and Robben on the right). So actually, I'm wrong, by taking such a player after having bought a guy like Emmanuelson who is a bit useless right now, you allow Allegri to have 3 different formations depending on the opponents.
It would be a great move as a consequence.
EDIT: Anyway, the guy would "just" be plus-value, we would still need what we need right now, no matter what we decide with Robben, he would be bonus.
