Ok. But what happens if he gets injured? We can't go into the season lacking options for our preferred formation.
We saw what happened with Zlatan last year. We played Leao there, we played Rebic there. Neither one convinced enough.
This is the same. We start the season with only Diaz. He gets injured (or even completely out of form)....and then we gotta scrap plan A and figure out what we'll do. Maybe that's why Pioli played 442 yesterday. Maybe he's already preparing for this. Who knows. But it's not ideal either way.
