Why I mentioned Rijkaard before, that these things indeed can happen occasionally with world class players too. And if it could happen at Ajax, then it could happen anywhere. Unless Milan has some special attributes as a club that would prevent this from happening.
Anyway my preferred player for the role would've been Pastore, but that boat is long gone. So currently I'm kinda torn between Kaká and Ganso. Each of them has its own merits and drawbacks... But I think the fact that Kaká played for us before, objectively cannot be considered a drawback. As for his injury history, well thats indeed one big negative on his side.
I got curious, so I made a quick comparsion between Shevchenko and Kaká. Shevchenko spent two seasons at Chelsea after he left Milan. From 51 starting apps he scored 20 goals and made 11 assists (as a striker). Kaká is currently in his third season at Real Madrid since he left Milan. In his first two seasons he made 40 starting apps, scored 16 goals and made 13 assists (as a playmaker).
So maybe Kaká did slightly better at Madrid from less apps, but not significantly... What is interesting, that when Shevchenko gone to Chelsea, the London club had a coach named Mourinho... And when Kaká left to Real Madrid, the Spaniards just signed the very same coach. Maybe it's Mourinho's tough coaching method that breaks Milan's players?
Another similarity between the two is that Shevchenko wasn't requested by Mourinho at Chelsea, he was bought because Abramovich wanted him. It's almost the same with Kaká, Mourinho not requested him, it was the new Real Madrid president who bought him, to win the elections.
So, quite interesting parallels between the two.
