Milan - Juventus was watched by 78681, maybe we can expect the ticket prices to go up dramatically.

It was all because of our victory in the first two matches which gave fans some false sense of euphoria. That won't happen again.

I don't particularly have issues with the supposed capacity, though it would seem smart to make the stadium scalable and therefore a structure that can increase in size.

Kind of nice to know at least they aren't sitting on their hands until they solve the stadium issue. Hopefully this boosts attendance to lift the moral of these players. I know they aren't great but they certainly play under their skill level for some time. The added income from hopefully successful changes would be nice too.

I think that's part of what Barbara and Thohir discussed in their meeting. By the sounds of it Milan will invest something towards San Siro, but Inter will put forward most of the money as they intend to buy it out. These investments (from the link) are fairly minimal and have very little impact on the San Siro itself, they're just initiatives the club is taking.

Interesting that they are now looking at the land by Casa Milan. I feel the EXPO sight was just a ploy to lower the price for the land nearby. It would only make sense to make a 'village' as commercially that would be of greater benefit to the club...and sort of what they have been saying they want all along.

Most important part of it is it will be 48k with the help Arup engineering. The hope is for 2018-19, if land issues get sorted as soon as possible. it will include hotel, restaurants and more.

Milan released a statement outlining their plans for a new 48,000-seater stadium in the Portello area of the city.

The project has been in the works for some time and today the club confirmed it has made a bid for the land, hoping to open the arena in 2018-19.

The stadium are would include a hotel, a school for the sports academy, restaurants, playground areas and spaces for young artists to showcase their work.

Milan’s staff studied more than 70 stadiums around the world when drawing up the project with Arup, who designed Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena.

The stadium is meant to fit into the architecture of the city, so would be only 30m above ground compared to San Siro’s 60m.

New technology would prevent the sound seeping out of the stadium and public transport links aimed at minimising traffic congestion.

The plans predict 1,000 jobs created in its construction and 500 full-time employees once the stadium is up and running.

Very nice! Arup has a good reputation around the world for their engineering abilities. If we get something that looks as good as or better than the Allianz Arena, I'll be quite pleased . 48k is a bit smaller than we're used to but we can get accustomed to it. Juventus stadium is only 41k.

About capacity, one of the milannews articles mentioned that they are looking at 48,000 seats, but with a view of possibly increasing in the future.
