after watching yesterday against bologna i think i understand why he isnt fully go 100% from the get go, when watching him at the end of the game i think his stamina just depleted a lot, its like his pressing is suddenly gone and he change place with giroud

According to GdS Rafael Leao is ready to snub Chelsea and commit his long-term future to the Rossoneri.

Believe it when I see it. Have heard things like this before. Hope he signs on and stays.

"Contacts between Milan and Leão’s representatives have intensified in recent days and the offer of €7m per year has been formalised. Leao wants to stay at the club that trusted him and helped him grow, so now the chances of pen on paper are increasing."

...or is it only because we are paying what he wants? When we offered less than €7m per year, that highlighted part meant nothing at all.

But I guess that's how it is. I would be glad to see him sign a long term contract. It's not my money. Sagrin

After seeing the toothless performance against PSV, Leao and his team can probably milk even more out of it. Sad.

Maybe I'm reading too much into this but the guy looks genuinely disappointed. almost as if he wants to stay but seeing what he sees around him, he can't make that decision.

Doesn't mean he's not a money hungry dipshit, I already said he was, but it does at least appear as though he cares about the club

I hope he is disappointed with himself first and foremost. NOT with "what he sees around him".

And if he doesn't care about the club, than get rid of his entitled ass. He can fuck right out of Milano and go on to where he wants to go. If I was Maldini, I'd tell his agent to bring a certain sum and not a cent less. Oh, and by the way, he's in the stands the rest of the season and all of next year if he stays. You either give your all for the club or you can get your ass right out the door!!!

They've been handling this kid with golden gloves. Petting him and protecting him. It's time to stop with the babying.

we've handled all of our finishing contract players that way and look where it's gotten us.

Also... I'll say it again. the guys in it for the wrong reasons. He's in it for the money, Lifestyle, and fame, as are many footballers these days.
This is a kid who left Sporting because he "felt threatened" when some Sporting fans stormed the Academy. This is the guy who was seen on video laughing with these guys during the event. Who has been in multiple photos with some of the guys before and after this event. But used the event to get a higher wage and move to Lille for free.
IF we were to sign him now, we'll jsut end up with the same drama later down the track. same as Gigio.

As a club in 2023, you need to either live with that or sign these players on longer term deals and sell them when the opportunity arrises.

and I'm with you with the tough love. That's what we should have done with Kessie and Gigio also... Give him a time frame... This is our last offer. Sign by X date or your out. Once that date comes along and he doesn't sign, he's frozen out of the squad and put up for sale.
EPL clubs are happy to do stupid deals like 115m for Enzo so why not 100m for Leao. Sell for 100m or let him rot for the extra 12 months and he can go for free.
Take a stand and we won't have this shit happen again but at the moment Leao thinks he has all the power because he knows he'll keep getting played to the very last day even if he doesn't sign

I hate these kind of reports:

"According to Antonio Vitiello’s latest column for MilanNews, the trust of Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara in the renewal negotiations with Leao remains unchanged, because the winger’s ‘priority has always been Milan’."

If it had been his priority he would have told his agents so and just signed.

I think Milan has treated all players too nicely. Skriniar is told that he would never wear Inter captain armband again, even though he promised that he would play all games professionally. Kessie and Donnarumma should have been treated the same way. It is one thing that we treat them with dignity and professionalism, but I think we have gone a bit overboard by still treating them way too nicely. No need to freeze them out of the team or not allowing them to train or play, but still letting them wear the armband is too much.

I think we should try to keep him, but certainly not at any cost. We should just make it clear that this is the best offer (I am sure that we do that already) and if you can't sign, I am sorry but we will sell you. If nobody does anything but cheap talk, the contract will eventually run out. We have been there too many times recently.
