Summer mercato 2021
I'm not disappointed to be honest. Had never seen the guy play. I'm sure he's talented. You don't get Milan, Juventus and Benfica interested without talent. But these days I'm very sceptical of any young player coming straight from Brazil. I'd rather shop around in Europe.

All you need to do is look back at any of my comments and you'll see I'm not a fan of picking up players direct form south America. However, a cheap talented youngster is a very different deal to say Paqueta or an Everton.

I personally think we should have tried to make it work(assumign Juve have actually signed him). at 7m(the reported figure), all he needs is a few decent performances and the kid would be worth 15m. one or two appearances in UCL and sneaks in a goal and suddenly everyone blows things out and thinks the kids the next Ronaldo and he could be worth more. From a business sense it's a good move. From a footballing sense... meh. could be shit. could be good. likely somehwere in between

Yeah is he actually any good?

Hardly scored any goals and not played for the Brazilian youth teams or involved in the Olympics. He's not even hyped in Brazil and the talent there is at an all time low.

Played for Brazil U15 (3 matches, 4 goals) and Brazil U17 (11 matches, 7 goals). Was Brazil's top scorer with 5 goals when they won the 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup. Has also been called up to the Brazil U20 team.

He is only 19, the Olympics are for U23 teams + 3 overaged players, so not that many 19 year olds are involved at all.

79 matches (average 65 mins per match) and 17 goals already for Santos at his age also means he can't be without talent. A goal every 300 mins or so, which of course should get better by age.

If he becomes a top/world class player, well that is another question. There are no guarantees of that no matter which 19 year old you sign. But to me Kaio Jorge seems like someone worth taking a chance on, especially for the price mentioned.
It's not over yet people:

Milan made a €5M to Santos to sign Kaio Jorge immediately. Juventus agreed terms with the player and plan to sign him for free in January. Benfica interested as well

[Sky Italia] @milaneye

guy on Twitter who officially represents Santos in Europe just said this...

"Brazilian media now confirms my reports from last night that Santos-Presidents acceptance of Benficas bid without informing Kaio Jorges agent was reason agent rushed to accepting Juventus offer. He had been given a august 1st deadline to present offers"
MILAN PROPOSE LEAO-BRANDT EXCHANGE WITH DORTMUND

Gazzetta: After Mourinho's departure, Tottenham made an important offer to Pioli to coach the team, but that was rejected. The Italian coach wants to take Milan as high as possible

Speaking of Tottenham, I need to understand how the FUCK they apparently got 13M for 32yo Toby Alderweireld!
That Jube-mafiaso Patraci getting his grubby mits into Qatari money. I bet we don't get a combined 13M for Krunic (Bosnian player of the year no less) and Samu (26 Spanish noodle), Or our supposed up and comers like Leao or Hague. All we get his talk, talk and more talk!

Yes, I know this has been covered here the last week or so, but not only can't we sell but Tottenham can get 13M for 32yo Alderweireld!
Toby Alderweid is shit anyway
Forza Diavolo ale!!!
Samu Castillejo is the current second-choice right-winger and has to leave before Milan can make any concrete moves on the market. Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara simply can’t risk signing a new winger as the Spaniard could end up staying.

According to Antonio Vitiello, Milan have been approached regarding Castillejo but the attempts – from several Spanish teams – have only been for loans. The Rossoneri would like to sell him outright, of course, which makes the situation complicated.

Other clubs rake millions for their cast-offs while Milan is stuck with worthless trash  Head on wall
Not Milan related but this made me laugh

Known fee but not the club?? Big Grin
