Milan to leave San Siro

I saw both projects. Both are good and modern. I prefer the 2nd one, Populous I think i the name of the firm. The first one is very standard and looks like many stadiums out there. However, the Populous design is unique, unlike any other and it really does resemble the Duomo with it's design.

The inside of the stadiums looks fine with both. Modern and comfortable. It's what they all look like. Not the intimidating stature of the San Siro, but this is what modern stadiums are about. They all look like malls and are family friendly. Not against it, but not looking too much into the inside. I'm sure it'll be fine.

In fact the more I see it the more I like it. It would be a huge standout.
The other, while impressive, appears closer to some existing modern stadiums

I admire all of you who actually bothered. I can't muster enough interest to think about the new stadium when we do like crap right now. what is point of having a new stadium? so that Inter Milan can win trophies in there while we get fuck none?

My nostalgic self is telling me to stay in San Siro, and cling on to the past glory. Because the new glory surely ain't gonna come any time soon.

New Stadium means revenue... Which means we can sign Suso and Kessie on huge long term deals.

Political group the Lega Nord have proposed an alternative plan to the ‘new San Siro’ project currently being discussed by Milan and Inter.

An official event was held last month by the two clubs in which Italian firm Manica showed their ‘Wedding ring’ design, followed by American giants Populous and their ‘Catherdral’.

Just as it seemed that the project was ready to go full steam ahead, il Sole 24 Ore revealed on Friday that the first council vote was an overwhelming one against a new structure.

Then, Alessandro Morelli of the Lega Nord put pressure on the city council by proposing that the current San Siro structure be preserved, and pledged to present an alternative plan.

Now, a report from Calcioefinanza.it has shown exactly what Lega would like to do with the structure, including turning the third tier into a panoramic gallery for commercial space and restaurants.

San Siro’s official capacity would be reduced from 80,018 to around 60,000 in this plan, and could therefore still be used for a number of high-profile events.

City is resisting building right beside San Siro so the teams might try another location, Sesto San Giovanni area around 15km north east of San Siro
