We won this game, but at what cost? I believe that we play Como next on Wednesday. At first I was even worried that we didn't rest Modric and Rabiot in this "easy" game; now we won't have Rabiot due to suspension. Pisa player (Loyola??) flopped like a fly hitting the fan. That was barely a foul, and yet we will lose our perhaps most important player for a huge game. It is hard to not believe that this referee had a hidden agenda.

That's the punishment for missing his penalty. 

Jokes aside, this is a small-team mentality. You don't take off a player that just came up after HT just to put on a defender. However, I can understand why. This is my guess: Allegri misjudged the game and believed that it would be an easy cruise-through after the first half's routine performance, so he subbed in Fullkrug to take advantage of all the nice crosses and hoped to kill the game off so that he could probably rest Modric and Rabiot after 60' for Como game. It wasn't Allegri's fault that Fullkrug missed the penalty; not only did we fail to improve the scoreline, we also effectively invited Pisa to get back into the game and make the game difficult for ourselves. Then we conceded, so Allegri decided to throw in Pulisic and Leao. That was a desperate move, because with Allegri's philosophy, I feel that it was uncanny that he had those three players all on at the same time (though many would argue that he should). I truly believe that Allegri felt that we must win this game otherwise season may be gone, so he opted for something extreme, probably because of the timing (ahead of all the heavy clashes this weekend?). 

Once the mission was completed (Modric scored), perhaps Allegri needed to restore the balance and add another defender since Pisa was trying to attack like crazy. Out of the three up front, Fullkrug was certainly the first to take off. Having said that, I don't like the move at all. It was somewhat justifiable, but it's going to hurt the morale: Fullkrug's for sure and even the team's; then again, Fullkrug's ugly penalty miss hurt the team's momentum so Allegri probably felt least bad since Fullkrug was almost full-crap today (also unlucky). 

There was some noise that this referee (i.e. Fabbri) is one of those "Marotta" guys and has done damage to us in the past. I don't know if that's true (these days, I feel that there is almost not even one Milan-friendly referee anymore), but his double yellows on Rabiot will only add fuel to the fire and make us Milan fans dislike him even more. I don't know what he said to the referee, but considering the theatrics of Pisa player, it is fair to say that the red card was shocking. 

When Fullkrug missed the PK and Pisa came back into the game, I feared a Roma repeat. In both games, we didn't play well but led the game anyway, but then just when it looked like opponent lost the ability to hurt us, they somehow scored and leveled through some random crappy event. What happened later today confirmed my fear, and I thought that we would drop points again. Thank goodness Modric scored and rescued us. Now he has scored in both home and away games for us. 

At the end of the day, I am happy that we won. If I had to choose between "3 points today and no Rabiot against Como" and "1 point today and Rabiot against Como", I would always choose the former. No Rabiot will hurt us quite bad against a quality side like Como (I am sure everyone remembers how instrumental he was against Como last game), but that game hasn't started and one bird in the hand always beats two birds in the bush.

This season is far from over, I cant imagine where we would be if we won i n stead of drew to the easy sides. I hope we take advantage of inter dropping major points for the remaining part of the season. We must secure the second star if we are having a season like this and still right at the heels of inter.
