Copa America 2015 in Chile - frbenzema2014 - 03-10-2015
Copa America 2015 will be the XLIV edition of this tournament, the main football competition between national teams in South America and the world's oldest still in effect. Organized by CONMEBOL, South American football administrator and football body FIFA affiliate, the tournament will be held for the seventh time in Chile between June 11 and July 4, 2015.

I'm interested in this tournament. Chile are one of the favourites and have never won the competition. They are also looking to learn from Brazil from the World Cup and are training outside of Chile to avoid the pressure.

Tournament starts this week people! Should be exciting as South America is probably one of the most balanced continents in terms of quality of teams. Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Brazil all think they have a good chance to win it while the other countries are no pushovers either. It'll be interesting to see how the European based players perform after a long, arduous season - especially those who just played in a CL final this past Saturday.

Chile win 2-0 tonight vs Ecuador in the first game of the tournament. Vidal won and converted a very soft penalty (probably wouldn't be given if they weren't hosts). The second came from an absolute gift of a backpass by Ecuador.
I only saw the last bit of the second half but it seemed like a very good match with plenty of chances created. Unfortunate for it to be decided like that though..

Chile admitted they struggled, which is interesting. This tournament is extremely hard to predict.
