Would love to hear any thoughts around Nigel De Jong. Allegri said he is exactly the player that were missing from the squad. And with his addition, the team is now (almost) complete.
All I know is that he's a rough DM a la Van Bommel. The main thing that stuck on me was his kick on Xabi's chest in the 2010 WC final.
How will he change our shape, system of play, and game? What are the expected positive impacts?

Only thing I can say:
The back 4 need protection, if he manages that well he will be most valuable this season

Why Pato there? I don't think he needs a kick from de Jong to get injured. He is his own master at "achieving" injury already.

van Bommel received a red card in his first ever game with us (against Catania), but he became irreplaceable for Milan in his one and half seasons with us.
I hope that de Jong could emulate van Bommel. That he chose Milan over money made me gain new appreciation towards him.

This is the best signing, IMO. We need a player like him to protect the shaky backline.

i am quite happy with his signing, we really need a player like him. He is one of the best defensive midfielders around and for that price, he is a steal.

I don't like his personality on the pitch and didn't want him join Milan but he is now a Milan player and could change to a more respectful player. He seems very good quality and yes he costs low, I agree he is a steal.

I won't lie and say I'm not pleased we got De Jong, as we desperately needed the DM. I won't support him personally, but will appreciate and respect his contributions should he do well.
