Maldinis - Graeme_C - 09-28-2015

Hey does anyone know how Christian Maldini is doing? I saw Daniel Maldini scored in his last game.

Unfortunately not, I would be interested in knowing too. I think Christian had a bad year for injuries last season.

not impressive at all! it is even horrible. it is as if the author deliberately picked the awkward moments.  Angry

If that's truly the best level of Christian Maldini, there is simply no hope in him.  Dodgy

lol, that video is pretty damning. In all honesty, it'll be surprising if Christian makes the first team squad, he's never been one to be touted as a star. Daniel, the younger of the two brothers, I believe is the more naturally talented one and more likely to be a success.

Either way, I wish the best for both, obviously I want both to follow the previous generations, but it's usually very difficult and the pressure on both is just huge. The weight of the name alone can easily break someone.

edit: Sylrus it's a one club man award. Links have been posted in the Goodbye to the Old Guard thread.

RE: Maldinis - Mathias - 05-02-2016

Honestly that video is not that bad. It's his first game, and let's try to take away the positives because in all honesty: A lot of guys who've done well for us in youth have turned out to be a huge dissapointment (seriously, the list is growing every year after the hype is created) and those we sent away (not all, but some) turned out be ok to "why the hell did we sell him".

I see some of the stuff his dad had in him: Not afraid to build up under pressure, passing centrally instead of immediatly going for the wings and try the safe option.

His mistakes is probably his focus in this game. It is well off, his timing for starting his runs as well as running too far away from his attacker (bad marking, you may say) is just painful to watch.

I believe, even today, defending doesn't have to be about raw stopping power. If you have a certain sense of intellect of reading the game you will be alright with enough training. This is my honest opinion and it is also (to me) the reason why there are so many goals scored against all teams: There are no great defenders left (in my opinion; this obviously open for debate) who are able to read the game properly.

Watching that video. Poor kid has ways to go.

I have watched christian play a few times and he certainly has a lot more to do if he wants to make it to the senior team.

I read on Milannews that Christian Maldini has been included in the first team squad for Reggiana. Wish him all the best there.
