Milannews.it is also reporting on it now, saying that the negotiation has entered the contract signature phase.

Gianluca di Marzio too now. Sounds like we are very close to signing Witsel then. That's a fairly good start to our mercato, all things considered.

Based on some videos on youtube about witsel I can bet on him that he can be better purchase than 40milion man kondogbia

RE: Summer mercato 2015 - Revolver - 06-24-2015

Well in my opinion if 28 years old unproven striker, Jackson Martinez, who has averaged 20 goals per season for the last 4 seasons playing in Portugese league is worth 35 milion, then a proven striker like Higuain, who has averaged just a little less (18 goals per season) for the last 4 seasons, but playing in La Liga and Seria A, and who's one year younger, is worth at least 50 million.

I really doubt that we have money for that, but Higuain would be a truly world-class signing. In a team like Milan he could guarantee 20 goals per season for next 5 years.

To me it's better to spend 50 million on a proven player, than is to gamble for 35 M.

RE: Summer mercato 2015 - nefremo - 06-24-2015

I agree with Revolver. I would rather have Higuain then Martinez....but Higuain would cost a lot more and we would be strengthening a direct rival with over 45mil. BUT, if we have a plan then we have to execute it and have to let others do the same, so essentially it's none of our business what Napoli will do with that money as they may get it from somewhere else anyway.

If we do get Witsel for 30, that means that we'd have 45 for Higuain. (Keeping in mind that we were ready to spend 75 just a week ago.

Let's see what happens...although I really can't belive that we'll get Higuain.

RE: Summer mercato 2015 - Hasan Rossonero - 06-24-2015

I agree with Revolver. If we can pay obscene money to Muntari and misstep on the wrong Traores of this world, we can shell out for Higuain who would raise our profile and performance.

Until Witsel is official, I am not going to get excited.

Talk are ongoing, but no agreement neither with Witsel nor Zenit so far.

That makes me more optimistic ironically than

"Milan have a deal with Zenit and Witsel."

This is accurate, Galliani did say that since we missed out on Kondogbia and Martinez, we have 75m to spend on other players. Frankly, Witsel for 30 and Higuain for 45 would be perfect. But Berlusconi said we'd sign TWO big attacking names, not to mention not one of Cerci,ELS,Menez have a secure spot in our squad. I'd still love to see Ibra pairing up with Higuain. Personally, if I had to choose, I'd spend on a good trequartista. If we're playing a 4-3-1-2 next season, we dont have anyone I rate good enough to play that crucial role.
