Galliani can add value to an operation. We all talk about him like he's some complete and total moron who can't walk and chew gum at the same time (I am guilty of this as much as anyone), but in reality, his ability to quickly execute deals can be quite valuable. What we need to have him do is to be the person who executes deals, not doing any sort of planning. He has no idea what the team actually needs and therefore just goes off signing random players from his friends. If we give him a list of candidates and just have him to get the deals closed, that's where he can be effective.

Only a moron would have Montolivo for 3 more years on 3million/year wage... And in fact I never seen him chew gum and walk at the same time.

slifersd, I'm not sure I agree Galliani executes deals quickly. With a couple of exceptions like Kucka and Bonaventura, both were market opportunities where he was basically offered the players, most of the deals that involve him have a tendency to drag on.
I'm pretty much in agreement with both you and nefremo in that I wouldn't necessarily be against keeping him for a year for a smoother transition, but his role needs to be limited and at the very least, every transfer would need approval from an upper level of management.

Keeping Galliani would be like when Isuldur had a chance to destroy the ring but he didn't. Then they had to fight a whole new war to get rid of Sauron. Keeping Galliani would be like that.

To be clear, I'm not for keeping Galliani. I despise that asshole! I was just pointing out that since Silvio is retaining some ownership...there is no way of Galliani leaving, so I'm not even expecting it. Just hope that they limit his power...
Edit: that valuations seems pretty much in line with what the Chinese are offering...

Galliani is so corrupted that even if he had entire new chance to start over without Berlusconi completely - I'm still not sure that he wouldn't abuse it to make his brotherhood deals with Genoa and similar people.
