RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Ca Rossonero - 04-18-2011

sliferds,

It's not that Ibra is bad. It's that Ibra is way overpaid. He limits our budget and possibility to generate revenue and sign players. If that money was allocated elsewhere we'd be better. Ibra plays too much for himself and not enough for the team. Seriously, you'd think a 12 mil euro player, highest paid in serie A would be type a team CANT lose. He's not. Only players we can't lose are thiago and nesta

You guys act like we 'need' him. Nah what we need is some proper technical players in midfield (that of somehow find a way to magically clone clarence of the last month forever). We need a proper LB etc.

Even without Clarence we got best strike crew in serie A. Inter is close, but I'd rather have all 3 of pato, robinho, cassano than etoo, pazzini, milito, pandev. Etoo is probably best of all the names but milan got more depth.

Like I said without ibra we play a lot more flowing and attacking. Add quality to midfield this will ONLY be more true.

Plus from current players, Merkel showed that he can be a world class player in the future....

20 year's 1991-2011...Albertini , Oddo , Maccarone ,Miccoli , Locatelli , Donadel , Matri , Borriello ,Abate , Antonini Im sure there is more ...not mentioning any of the young guy's there now..

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - xudong - 04-18-2011

Locatelli was not from our own youth academy. But I agree with that it is not fair to say that Milan has only had Abate in the past twenty years.

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Siregar - 04-18-2011

Ambrosini should be there too. Even he was not in Milan from very kids but the case was similar with Merkel, we bought him when they are very young. The rest are already said by Jay.

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - xudong - 04-18-2011

Ambrosini was bought from Cesena at 1995, if I remember correctly. Coco, on the other hand, was our own product.

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Jay Crisp - 04-18-2011

See we had plenty but as long as guy plays in our youth system he is our product..unless he was somewhere else since 12 and came her at 18 or 19 and played only a few games.

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Ca Rossonero - 04-18-2011

What does the past sins have to do with Milan's current youth system? In 2008 (or 2009) milan hired Stroppa to revolutionize the youth. Milan studied Barca's youth set up and are trying to follow suit. The invested heavily in bringing best youth they could to primavera. LAst year they won primavera cup. You want to know last time that happened? When Maldini played in primavera....

There is a lot of talent there. It's universally recognized. They won't all make it, but some will.

But it takes time, all the changes to youth set up will be seen in future. Beretta, Verdi and Fossati are stars of primavera at the moment. We saw Verdi in summer, he looked damn good for a 17 year old (now 18). All 3 performed very werll at u17 and u19 world cups. Beretta and Fossati specifcally. The u20 coach called Beretta "Christian Vieri clone" and Fossati ranges in comparisons from Pirlo to Aquilani from same coach.

Borussia Dortmund are lining up Nurnberg's Ilkay Gundogan as a replacement for Nuri Sahin, who they expect to lose this summer.

Sahin is reported to be wanted by both Barcelona and Real Madrid and, although no offer has yet been received, Dortmund are resigned to losing him.

"If Nuri has an offer from Real Madrid or Barcelona, then he obviously has every right to talk to us about it,'' said Dortmund's general manager Hans-Joachim Watzke to Bild am Sonntag. "Then we would sit down and discuss it.

"We have already tried to extend his contract, but we did not manage it.''

With Sahin set to leave, Dortmund have wasted no time in identifying a replacement in Gundogan.

"We would love to sign him as long as the overall package is right, which means that we can agree financially both with him and Nurnberg,'' added Watzke. "If Ilkay Gundogan wants to take the next step in his sporting development, then he would be coming to the right place here.''

Sahin would be a great signing for us.

Merkel with us since he was 16-17...He didnt play in Milan youth, but he played for Cesena youth.

i said that Abate is the only world class player...Albertini was before that area...

Milan signed Borriello from a squad for 1m euros in the past so he is not Milan product...Matri is a very good player,i always said that i rate him. wouldn say no to him as 3rd choice for our attack and vice ibra...

Merkel showed that he can be a world class player with the perfonmance with Coppa italia, Serie A...(in short term)
But other still didnt show anything yet...

The problem is ibra's wages...Firstly he earns 9 m euros not 12 m euros. if Wages are problems, i think we should concern about the likes of Flamini...Flamini earns 5.1 m euros, Mexes will earn 5 m euros...we have many left wing backs, Zambrotta, Janku, Antonini, Didac Vila...we have many Cb's, Papa and Bonera...if we keep just 2 Left FB for left side, its enough. we will save much from their wages...

You say that we should sell ibra because of his wages...then we should buy Forlan, his 2009 wage was 5 m euros. Tottenham rejected to sign him cuz his wagesdemands was more than 100.000 pounds a week.i dont know English system. But its a lot more than 5 m euros.

First youth, I think even Pep himself could not believe that the amount and quality of players Barelona are producing. It is just one of those freak of nature, that it seems like every Brca goth is becoming a superstar. To think and hope that Milan can follow suit is really a fantasy. Actually, I don't even think Barcelona can continue doing it.
Milan is doing well in youth, evidence of that are Merkel, Verdi, and Strausser, I would add Abate too. As these youth are no longer someone who we thinks can make it big but rather we seen enough of them to know that they are the real deal.
I really don't want to continue this Ibra debate any more, but here is my last words, unless otherwise, when Ibra were scoring goals left right front and center, he was getting paid the same ashe is now. I really didnt see any of you complained about him being overpaid when he was leading the team to victory or complain about the lack of flo in a game when he was the main focus. Why now? There isn't any striker where even The real MVB himself said he is his heir and Ibra earns that praise. You can compare him to Messi or Ronaldo all you want, but without the strong supporting team they have, they will struggle here and there too.
Can Milan be a better team without Ibra, of course they can as long as they find the right players to play for e team, but that can also be said about any players in the world. Barcelona can be a better team without Messi,if they sign Silva to play as their DM, Ganso to play next to Xavi in mid, with an attack trio of Ineista, Villa and Tevez.
