y? We got Pato + a billion players in youth system who are rated. Plus Robinho/Cassano.

Ibra will be 30 next year, so it's not like he's a long term plan either

that is purely from the age perspective. Ibra is not young and is not in our future, but Forlan is even older, that's why it won't make sense if we eye on the future. that's what I meant.

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - WCmilan - 04-18-2011

were speaking like we need to sell ibra, we dont have too but im not against it either.. and plus all those clubs know we scored a great deal for ibra so i disagree that they wont pay 35m, because after all he did preform better with us than he did with barca. then again lets just stop speaking on the ibra issue wil see what happens in the mercato right now we know berlu will invest with or with out the sale of ibra so why dont we talk about players we'd like to see with the money hes willing to spend.. i wish berlu released how much budget hes allowing the club so we can work with it

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Ca Rossonero - 04-18-2011

It is worth noting- in 4 games without Ibra, we've won 3. We've scored 10 goals. (counting the first lecce game w/ borriello squandering everything in site)

The only loss could come down to lack of Robinho's dynamism upfront (cassano/Pato didn't work at the moment cause of Cassano's fitness)

It's not unfair to say without Ibra we're still world class uptop, and without him we play MUCH more fluid and flowing football. A lot of one touch, running attacking football. Ibra just tends to slow us down. Almost same problem as Ronaldinho, except Ibra is a much better player at the moment. Mark my words, we win 2 more without Ibra, there will be some real rumblings.

It is also worth noting that there are 15 games played without Pato completely, and Milan won 10 of them, D 3 and L2(of which one of them is the Ajax game where Milan already qualified to the knockout stage of CL).
Now that Pato will be out for 2 weeks, if Milan win all the games during his absent, does that mean Milan can do without both Pato and Ibra??? Since without them Milan manage to have a PERFECT RECORD during the late stage of Serie A.

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - xudong - 04-18-2011

all that can prove is milan can win without pato or ibra, but I don't think missing both is a good idea. we may suffer from missing both.
and sampdoria is too weak and can't mean anything.

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - abbeyleemania - 04-18-2011

Galliani said that Berretta is ready without Pato...We need a striker who can keep the ball when we are in attack and can be a wall for Robinho, Boateng e.t..c.

We won over inter and Samp without ibra...We lost to Palermo, who played with 3 man defence...3DM+Robinho didnt start+Cassano did nothing...

We scored early goals vs Samp and inter...Then we didnt have much problem and we found much space, we didnt miss ibra... also considering inter's high line defence...

Btw everyone is beating inter easily right now. Schalke in both games beated them and scored 7 goals...Parma won vs them...The score would have been higher...

For me, 2 players are so important for our system. First Robinho, then Boateng...Milan s playing great, cuz T.Silva found himself and in great form, Same goes for Abate, his confidence growed. Van Bommel s in great form. Even Seedorf is doing very good right now...

Milan linked with Santos's RB Jonathan...Source:GDS...inter linked with Danilo(Santos Rb, 19 years old, new Maicon),
Nuri Sahin and Nasri, Wenger asks for 30 m euros for him...

I don't get why everyone suddenly think Ibrahimovic is not needed here any more. Look, I know he has been a sh*thead over the last month or so; I also know that we have played extremely well recently. But to say that we don't need Ibra at all is just silly. In all recent games, we were lucky enough to score early. This forced opposing teams to attack us and we were able to use our superb passing to counter strike. We did it with Inter, we did it with Fiorentina, and we just did it with Sampdoria. But what happens when we don't score early? That's when we really start missing Ibra's height, strength and skills. Whether we like it or not, he is the best striker we have in the lineup. There is a reason that every team he goes wins the domestic league and that is because how well this guy can break down tough defensive schemes. He has to be kept, it's that plain and simple.

Players from youth, i remind you that Milan only produced Abate from youth sides in the last 20 years. Only 1 player.
Plus from current players, Merkel showed that he can be a world class player in the future...

Borrielo and matri are both milan youth products, I don't mind anyone of them replace inzaghi after he is done with his career.

To get 3 early goals in 3 matches consecutively is in no way luck. I agree we need a player with Ibra's physique, which is something I made a point of last week, but Ibra himself isn't specifically needed for this role. A point I was trying to make last week was we could get a good target man that isn't an automatic starter to do this sort of role, so that we can focus on building a better footballing team overall (when Ibra plays, we tend to depend on him pumping high balls to him, which is negative for the quality of our football).

That said, as Gabriel said last week we won't get anyone better than Ibra for this role, so if we want a starter for this role, then Ibra's definitely the best we can have.

edit: forgot to add earlier that Ganso could come for around 25million according to milannews and goal.com has linked us to Hulk.
