Signature worthy.

Big money offer should be considered and probably accepted. I know I am stretching it a bit but I hope his relationship with Barbara doesn't complicate things in the future.

RE: pato - fLame - 09-22-2011

Regardless of who the player is, isn't what you are saying kind of .... heartless? Huh
Pato swore his future to Milan, and never gave fans reasons to doubt his loyalty. Many praised him as recently as after the Barca game?

And now after injury - jokes and speculation "sell him to whowever offers most"?
So much for fan "love" lol.

These very same forum members cursed Sheva for leaving and "breaking their hearts". This kind of love seems the same as "women who love men as long as they have money". Huh

RE: pato - xudong - 09-22-2011

This was 8th injury that Pato has sustained in the past 2 seasons.

Nothing heartless. This is all business.

Pato swore his future. But If Milan dont offer the best contract in the future wouldnt he leave to another big team who pays more?

We all have attachments to certain players ( mine is Robinho) but I'd sell have the team if you told me that our chances of scudettos and CL's would increase.

We want Milan to win. Great players will always come and leave but MILAN is what remains.

Okmilan No player is bigger than the team. Okmilan

If it was "just business" then players like Maldini wouldn't exist. Nor would players that accept pay cuts to play for a certain team or to help their team in a tough financial situation.

And if it was "all about winning" - Maldini should have left Milan at the end of our best cycles to a different team that was more likely to win.

Ok, you have your opinion and it's your right.
But don't be surprised when I laugh in people's faces next time they mention Sheva, or if they mention "broken hears because Thiago is moving to Barca" or if they mention "crying because Nesta is retiring".

It's just business.

And to prove that I am not the only one with such opinion - look at Bayern's policies. They helped Ribery through his depression and problems because he is their player and they are loyal. They support Robben no matter how many times per season he gets injured... (and at the end of the day both these players repay the trust) Bayern actually has a great record supporting their players, but oh well...

This sort of attitude makes me sick. Yesterday a player is your hero. Tomorrow - "olololo he sucks, sell him to the highest bidder". This is not Milan worthy attitude, if you don't see how, the there's nothing I can do to explain.

This is an excuse, not a reason. And you are clearly using it when it's most convenient. How about we sell our stars under this motto? Will you stand by it?

And what is Milan? Before everything else - it's a set of values and principles to stand behind. Wasn't "family atmosphere" one of them?
Is it Pato's fault that milan lab doesn't know what they are doing? Anyway, I think I said enough in the previous post.

RE: pato - xudong - 09-23-2011

You are right. That's an excuse, not a reason, and I will not stand by it if we sell our stars under this motto. We shouldn't sell our stars. So if Pato was our star, I would definitely keep him - screw that motto.

However, Pato is not our star. He has tons of promise, but he is not a star yet. To make it worse, he has sustained 8 injuries in the past two years, most of which occured in a most frustrating manner. Sometimes he got hurt while running without anybody even getting close to him! At this rate, he will not become a star or a leader that we as a team can rely on. That's why I said I wouldn't mind selling him if he kept like this.

I certainly don't mind keeping him. It is not my money, and he is a good player with tons of talent and promise; and he is still so young, and he could certainly become a star player if he could keep himself healthy. I certainly would love to see him succeed with Milan.

Lastly, may I point out that: while criticizing me for using "no player is bigger than the team", I think you actually did exactly the same thing. You are using "family atmosphere" also when it is most convenient. That too, is an excuse, not a reason.

Cheers.

Maldini Baresi type players are 1 in a million now my friend.

Messi looks like he will be. But look at R7, Eto, David Villa, etc.

Buffon is a loyal player.

But let me ask you this do you think Silva, Pato, Ibra etc would stick with Milan for a year or two if we were a mid table team?

They would probably do whats best for them. Dont you think?

Would I be sad if we sold Robinho? YESSSSS I would , but i'd still be on this forum routing for MILAN.

To answer your first point - every major team has a Baresi-like player in terms of loyalty. Chelsea has Terry and Lampard, ManU has Scholes and Giggs... etc..

Regarding Etoo, i think he is a loyal player as well. In the first case he was sold by Barca who wanter "a better player Ibra", in the second case he was sold by Inter which wanted money.

Regarding mid table teams - there are players like Totti and De Rossi. Roma isn't exactly a mid table team, but all they wanted was trophies, then they certainly had many chances in their careers to got to bigger clubs.

It just makes me disappointed how quickly people become cynical here.
So, next time someone says "Kaka broke my heart" or "Sheva broke my heart" I hope these people themselves realize they are talking bull****.

To be sincere - I am not. Ideally the "family atmosphere" would work for the best of teams and players. IF players realized when they are no longer good enough and asked to move or accepted pay cuts instead of sitting on their high wage contracts.

And there are such players. Rino is probably the best example which did both two seasons ago - said "I can move if I am no longer needed" and eventually accepted a pay cut. (because our management didn't have money for a replacement anyway).

For a "family atmosphere" to work, every part of the club has to do it's job.
Fan's job is too show support... especially in a time of difficulty like injuries when nothing depends on a player.

So far, Milan fans are obviously failing their test.
