I was wondering why Maldini and Boban would need to fly to Frankfurt as reported a few days ago, but now it makes sense. I have always thought that after the two-year loan period is over, two players involved will be swapped (i.e. valued at the same price).

Milan directors Paolo Maldini and Zvonimir Boban are expected to hold talks with Eintracht Frankfurt over signing Ante Rebic permanently.

Rebic was signed in the final days of the summer transfer window, but found it difficult to break into the Milan starting XI at the beginning of the season.

However in recent weeks Rebic has nailed down a starting berth for the Rossoneri, and has repaid the club with some impressive displays.

Only left-back Theo Hernandez has scored more goals this season than Rebic, however the Frenchman has more than double the amount of minutes on the pitch.

Calciomercato.com state that Milan are now convinced with the Croat and directors Maldini and Boban will hold talks with their counterparts at the Bundesliga side to thrash out a deal for Rebic.

Rebic was signed on a two-year loan deal, with striker Andre Silva going the other way, however due to the timing of the negotiations, no deal was struck pertaining to a set price in the case that either side wanted to keep the respective players.

The website suggests that Boban and Maldini will aim to agree upon a fee with Frankfurt in order to keep Rebic at San Siro.

We could do the same deal as Ibra. 1 yr plus an option.

Huge fan of Sarr. Would be a good pickup. Why not Sarr and Thiago Silva. WHo know's Hopefully Thiago Silva can help Roma, Sarr, Gabbia grow as players.

Milan joined the hunt for 60M Boubakary Soumare.

TBH I won't get him even if we beat the competition for him. We can't risk our 60M when we are already facing FFP crisis. We already wasted enough on Paqueta who got out to be pretty useless.

€60m, that's probably our total transfer budget for the next three years... Devilol

RE: Summer mercato 2020 - nefremo - 02-19-2020

Bullshit news. He "chose" Milan on the eve of a CL knockout round game vs Dortmund.

Anyway, it's easy news to make. Maldini/Boban have said multiple times they wanna sign some experienced players. Silva's contract is expiring and it was revealed he won't renew (won't be offered a renewal, or whatever that case is). Silva has also always openly talked about his appreciation for Milan.
So, yea. It's a no brainer news story. But I wouldn't think that he chose us in February. We'll see.

RE: Summer mercato 2020 - Artan - 02-19-2020

For this summer it seems that we will have to sell Donnarumm and probab. Kessie, otherwise again we wont b able to approach new quality signings. Even more now tat City got punished and the management will have an argument more to obey rules by FFP. As for the GK position, there are some names that cost less and have approximately the same quality as Donnarumma. Starting with Perin, Sirigu, that Sasauolo keeper forgot his name, Meret, plus Plizzari. Even Donarumma the older, could be given more chance, as when called into action he has proven himself.
As for the mid, without having to spend big we could go for Fofana (Udinese), he really does well last yeara, very dynamic player in both game phases. Names like Modric, Rakitic are of course great but less likely 'cos of their gages. The biggest problem IMO, is the RB spot, where since years we have to choose the less bad one. We are suffering there, and wonder me how Maldini doesnt see that. Fix there is a must, we cant rely on Conti and Calabria, if we want to move forward.
Less problematic is the CB position, where i see a good partnership btw Romagnoli and poasibly Thiago Silava, with Gabbia being the understudy and learning from the elder ones. Last but not least, the issue with Zlatan who will turn 39 and by then maybe less impegnative. Maybe after all, Piateks sale wasnt the best thing Maldini and Boban did

RE: Summer mercato 2020 - Aficio - 02-19-2020

Champion League or not will decide...

Luckily Napoli are in deep shit, hope Atalanta follow.

A Milan with Silva - Modric - Ibra in CL and the youngsters running around is more than interesting.

I would also be satisfied with silva-bakayoko:-)
