RE: Euro 2016 - ACMILAN1983 - 06-15-2016

Portugal were a big disappointment last night imo. They should have won easily, let alone draw. The other match was pretty dire, though more competitive than expected with Hungary causing an upset.

I came across this pretty good article on goal.com about the Russian hooligans:

http://www.goal.com/euro2016/en/article/the-kremlin-the-far-right-and-football---does-russia-have-a-hooliganism-problem/qojjzwb99jqj1jgrifegeb25n

It's interesting how backwards their perceptions are about English fans, seeing as nowerdays hooligans in England are at a minimum and football is seen as a family event. Something I genuinely feel has changed significantly for the better. As for football and politics being so closely linked, I doubt this is a surprise for anyone, it's the case in a lot of parts of Europe, whether looking at Eastern Europe, Spain, Italy and many other places. Hell, as Milan fans we know it all too well, as Berlusconi has used football and specifically Milan as a tool for his political career.

I'm not saying this because of today specifically, although Martial has been absolutely dreadful today, but in general watching him at United as well....I just feel like this player is so overrated. The occasional move on the ball or something....but all in all I'm always disapointed when I watch him play. I can't figure out for the life of me why he is is worth even half of the ridiculous price that Manchester paid for him. He looks emotionless and uninterested half the time on top of that. I don't know...

Giroud has missed 100s of headers in his career now. The bigger disappointment to me is Deschamps and the pointless 'tactical' tinkering of coaches these days Leaving Pogba out, from the moment I saw the line up I could see him coming on soon.

You can leave Pogba out, but you can not leave the second best player in the world out, who actually won the game for you. That's Antone Girezmann for you!  Okmilan

England very fortunate to get all 3 points this afternoon, Wales were pretty comfortable before the goal. Interesting group though, anyone can still go through.

How could Roy bench Vardy and play Sterling from the start is beyond me. Lucky Lions.

RE: Euro 2016 - nefremo - 06-16-2016

The good thing about this year's tournament is that everyone is still in. Every team will probably enter the last game with a chance to get through as a 3rd place. It'll be interesting.

I think Albania are gone  Confused But the irony is that they actually played really good football  Dodgy

RE: Euro 2016 - nefremo - 06-17-2016

Albania is not gone! If they win their last game against Romania, they'll be third, so they still have a chance. Sure, it may be tough for them to be one of the 4 best 3rd placed teams with only 3 points and a lot will depend on goal differential (-3 for them right now). But my point is that compared to other tournaments, where a lot of teams reach the last game knowing they have nothing to play for, this one will have almost everyone with a chance to go to the knockouts until the very last moment.

Having said all that, Ukraine is the only team to be mathematically out of the tournament so far.

The moment Modric was replaced due to injury, Croatia lost control of the game. He was replaced Kovacic.
