RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Kaka1899 - 04-15-2011

I've been busy for the last few days so apologies but i've not heard any Ganso news afer his agent said he was signing for Corinthians, i know Ronaldo came out and said it wasn't true but has there been any more rumours or news after that?

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Kaka1899 - 04-15-2011

take it with a truck full of salt but some spanish guys just told me on Twitter his friend is a journalist and hes found out Milan are interested in Cesc Fabregas if we cannot land Ganso.

Merkel can learn a bit more and work on his finishing. He makes those late into the box kind of like Scholes , but when he get's there he doesn't have the head to finish the chances off.But that will come .I know we need some new midfielder's but Merkel can became a great player for us .

I'd argue we need both. Notice we haven't played consistently well unless Pirlo or Seedorf are on form. We can't hold posession without pirlo, our play is ugly. The whole making runs thing is worthles if there isn't people to pass to them.

Quote:Assists or passes doesnt mean anything if you dont have a finisher...i mean match winner is...What counts Ganso passes perfectly if Robinho misses 8-9 chances out of 10...

Robinho's finishing problems are overrated. He's in bad form in that regard but no worse than Zlatan.

Zlatan- 114 shots, 14 goals (4 which are penalities)- goal ever 8.6 shots
Robinho- 76 shots, 10 goals- goal every 7.6

Pato is our clinical finisher. When he gets ball in right position he finishes. He is best finisher statistically in serie A. Zlatan and Robinho are more creators, but let me say this....your finishing goes up when you get better opportunities. Right now we can't pass and most of there shots are self created and thus difficult. Rarely is it just a thru ball on a counter.

Quote:The CM who works tirelessly, makes a lot of forward and also diagonal runs...Merkel does it all in a game, i event couldnt count howmany times he does it...He has great movement to the box...

in my view of game, i'd play three 2 way midfielders in midfield trio...Who can tackle, run tireless, move up with the ball, drive with the ball, who can press...

Flamini, Van Bommel, Gattuso vs Hernanes, Ramires, Jucilei... i'd go for second one...

Well the second midfield you mentioned involves a true playmaking passer in hernanes. That's a key factor. We bot Boateng who is a box to box player (like ramirez). But we really need a passer like seedorf has been recently, or pirlo was in early season from LCM position. There 'pace' has no bearing.

Quote:Honestly, Ganso didnt convince me... it would be better if we can sign Hernanes+Pastore...also considering we need a 2 way midfielder in midfield trio to add more quality to midfield...

Well I'd agree... but hernanes + Pastore would cost over 70 mil total.

I also think you don't know how special Ganso truly is. There's a reason he immediately got brazils #10. He's a natural #10. I hate saying Zidane, but style wise, sure. Zidane/Rui in there prime (juve/fiorentina years) with a touch of rivaldo.

Quote:Our midfielders couldnt do much under press and at high tempo of CL? Pirlo failed, Seedorf failed, Flamini failed...This is why we should add quality to midfield if we want a quarter final at least...

Don't know what game you watched. Seedorf was MOTM v. Tottenham. He carried the team. Problem was Zlatan slowed us down.... \

Or are you talking RM game? Pirlo and Gattuso were MOTM there. With captain like efforts that made me proud.

Don't forget, the fastest part of a footballers body is his brain Wink.

And you need a balance of a team w/ high football brain and physical skills. That's why Boateng was such a huge signing for us. He brings the much needed physical tools to help pirlo and seedorf. Both of whom hit good form near him.

Quote:Zamparini asks for 50 m euros, at least he tells it to reporters. But it doesnt mean we will sign him at that cost...Ganso costs as much as him...More or less. he costs around 30 m euros at least...He got a long term injury...

The injury is a concern.

They are different players. Both are special.

One we don't discuss is Alexis Sanchez. I don't get why we aren't interested in him either.....

We could run a perfect Xmas tree....

Pato
Robinho---Sanchez
Pirlo----------Boateng
DM
Defense

Just need to sign a pirlo replacement. Passing type (as previously said)... hernanes, modric etc. type.

But I wouldn't pass on Ganso. He has played in 3 man midfields and well. His future may very well be there.

I think Alexis Sanchez is likely to be an Inter player next season if rumours are to be believed.

man utd have wanted him longest. City are now involved. Chelsea love him too.

It's likely he's in EPL, though Inter are heavily interested too. I don't get why we aren't involved. I like him more than Pastore (well I'd love eitheR). But Sanchez fee is lower or atleast more negotiable (see: no Zamparini)

Speed, movement, pace and willingness to track back are the modern day midfielder. Something that Milan must get in order to compete on all fronts.

flamini has these qualities. He's not very good.

Boateng does too, but a midfield of 3 boateng's wouldn't be good.

You need balance. You can hide physically inferior but technically superior players in a team (like xavi for ex.) if you got a good machine around them.

Why has pirlo declined? His game is exact same as 5 years ago. It's just team around him declined. Before he had prime gattuso who was a mopnster. Seedorf who was much younger and very box to box. Good back line but great movement infront of him.

It's not surprising when boateng and robinho came pirlo looked a lot better.

A team requires a balance of skills abilities.
