Actually that's true, but now most of the players are hungry for trophies, especially players like Pato, Thiago Silva, Ibra, Boateng, Abate etc ( and not forgetting Pippo here, who is always hungry for more
) who have never won it. Come on Pato! You're our hope!

As much as I hate to say it because I was very excited when Pato came to us, I think it is time to sell him to the highest bidder and get a forward who stays fit.
I don't think this is just a case of "growing pains"; Pato is injury prone, and it is, as reza says, sad.

I see a positive side in this. Now we get to see how this team plays without Pato.
It's funny how many of you wanted Neymar while you also want to get rid of Pato. Pato and Neymar are essentially identical players, in terms of characteristics, maturity and decision making. (except Pato is two years ahead in maturing aspect)

I never wanted Neymar.
I see the positive side as well, but I think Pato would have been a huge talent had he been fit more often. I say if Chelsea or someone else offer more than 25 million euros for him, we should cash in.
Also, he has shown little signs of maturity over the years. Let's see what happens; Galliani was not too happy with his latest injury.

The injuries are getting a bit too much, but like Galliani I've got to question this. He was fit for 2 years before these problems started, and then it always seems to be his hamstring.

Regarding fan opinions in general - I am following these forums for many years. Throughout my experience fan opinions and ideas often have the same rate of failures as those from our management... if not higher.
Just a few examples of fan failures:
wanting Kaka to stay
wanting Gourcuff to stay
wanting Nagatomo to come
wanting Ranocchia to come
saying Zarate is better than Pato (should be swapped for Pato)
...
So please keep in mind that your opinions are just ... opinions...
but unfortunately from here on the chance of Pato succeeding failing is 50 / 50.
I hope I am right about him, but we will see.

Yes, but who said otherwise? We all want the best for our team. Sometimes we're proven wrong, other times we're not.
If Pato stays healthy after his return for the rest of the season, then obviously we should wait and see. However, his injuries are a major concern.

Sometimes on the Mercato thread you see people wanting a Robinho-Torres Swap, buying Hernanes, Honda, Ganso, & Sandro all at once, and so many people wanting strikers when we already have... 6!
What I take from the forum is a general consensus of 2 things:
* Our Midfield has aged and needs to be replaced, with at least 1 World Class, dynamic, attacking midfielder.
* Pato's injuries are concerning, and after a few years of this, perhaps soon will be the time for the bigger conversation
Now everyone and their mother has solutions to these 2 problems, but the good thing is that we've basically nailed down what the problems are. I have been a huge supporter of PATO but rather down on our midfield for quite some time. I may throw my two sense in here or there but the bottom line is it's up to Galliani and his team to come up with a solution for these problems. Pato's issue can be resolved over the next year or two, while the midfield issue must be resolved NOW. There is no pushing that back any longer....

Apart from the midfield issue--with which I agree on the whole, but I don't think it is as bad as people make out--I still think that Pato has been a liability many times. His injuries, his finishing, and his decision making are a cause for concern.
One thing I can say is that he has definitely put on a lot more muscle at Milan. If you remember, Totti came onto the scene as a fairly slight player, but he put on some serious size between 2002 and 2005. However, he was not injured every other month.
I think management have a wait and see mentality. If Pato gets injured a couple of time this season, then we may sell him to a team that can afford him and the luxury of having a player who is injured so much (largely because they have many other players who can compensate).
When Pato was bought in 2007, he was part of the Mr. X list of that summer that included Drogba! The Gazzetta interview was taken in Forte dei Marmi if I remember correctly, and Galliani said that Pato was in the list of strikers they were trying to buy. He was heralded as the big thing at Milan, and his debut against Napoli was explosive. However, since then, he has had good/great games, forgettable ones, and outright abject ones.
That's fine--after all he is human. But do we really need to throw in injuries into this mix?
