Rather Milan sign someone who is better than both of them. Monty will be great off the bench while Aqua is pure crap, as he had shown this season. I admit he had his moments but ey are short lived, time to move on if Milan want to win.

pure crap?? are you serious? He was playing good before his injury, he was leading the assist chart back then. I agree he was poor in the second part of the season but he never really got a chance to play a few games, and he was clearly harmed by his unsure future and the fact he was left out becouse he may not have played 25 games.

Aquilani's done ok, but I think he's squad material, not starter. I'd rather get someone who can compete for a starting spot.

Alberto Aquilani’s future is still up in the air, but it’s reported he will halve his wages to make the move from Liverpool to Milan permanent.
The midfielder joined on loan last August, but did not play enough games to activate the enforced buy-out clause.
His contract with Liverpool has another two years left to run with wages of €4m per season and has reportedly given the all-clear to halve that sum.
Milan are not prepared to stump up the €8m needed to buy Aquilani, so he could return to Anfield anyway.
Liverpool have many other things to consider, as manager Kenny Dalglish was sacked this afternoon and a replacement is yet to be found.

With Flamini re-signing, I guess that would be the end of Aquilani's Milan career. He had such a promising start here and ended up sidelined for most part. What a pity.
Not to forget that shameful 24.5 matches we manipulated this season.

If it was a choice between signing flamini free on 1.4mln/year or signing aquilani for 4mln + a similar wage/year we seriously screwed up, a fit aquilani is a good player seriously flamini has never shown himself as more then average

I wonder if Aquilani managed to get out of his Liverpool contract (hence becoming a Bosman), would Galliani go for him? Our management these days is getting very frustrating to watch.

Former Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani believes the high asking price placed on him by the Anfield outfit prevented him seeking a move away from the club before his switch to Fiorentina.
The Italian sealed a move back to Serie A last week after a miserable three-year stint in Merseyside, two of which he spent on loan at Juventus and AC Milan after failing to force his way into the first team in England.
Aquilani revealed, despite not being a part of the club’s plans, his exit was blocked by the Reds’ valuation of him exceeding the price both Italian clubs were willing to pay to make his stay permanent.
"Did I feel unwanted? I think you all know how things went for me," he told reporters. "I would have stayed at Milan if I had played 25 games. After my 22nd appearance, I was told that I would not play any more games.
"I appreciate their honesty. They explained to me that it was due to economic issues, and they preferred not to spend that money. Even the year before, I had a very high asking price, one that Juventus chose not to exercise. The market has changed and Liverpool always asked too much money for me."
I thought that Aquilani is being very gracious towards Milan not slamming our management for being cheap (I would feel hurt - it was only 6M after all).
I am rather indifferent, even though I certainly won't mind Aquilani staying, but can't help but feeling so sorry for him and for us (fans). After all, we were used to the life of lobster and caviar, now it is going to take some time to adjust to the new one with only ramen noodle and stale bread.

So, it is a gentleman approach I think from Galliani co, telling the player honestly the situation. I know, it is like escaping from obligatory of buying him but it is much better to say honest than kicking him out from the club without logical reason.
