RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - theaxeofpain - 04-12-2011 Basically Berlusconi said that if we win the scudetto, he'll buy 2 'champions', and that he dreams to have CR7, "but sometimes dreams become true". RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - GeoTav - 04-12-2011 (04-12-2011, 11:09 PM)ElMago99 Wrote: I've been away awhile guys, can someone summarize transfer speculation in past week. I ready somewhere in an Italian article that Milan want to implement a 4-2-3-1 next year for Champions League, and want Ronaldo: The last rumours of coming players are: - Ganso (Braida negotiating for his transfer nowadays after Ganso refused a renewal from Santos - Santos against Milan and Inter and complaining to UEFA/FIFA about the behaviour of the two clubs: what is true ?) - Mexes (done deal ?) - Astori (nothing really new) - Hernanes (he would be a target among others) - Ronaldo (Berlusconi dreaming) - Robben (depending on the result of Bayern regarding their qualification in CL next year) The last rumours about our current players are: - Ibra maybe being sold (but the player stated he would be a Milan player next season) - Robinho confirmed and apreciated by Berlusconi - Pirlo (nothing new) - Papa maybe sold (there would be an offer) - Seedorf between Brazil, Manchester City and a new contract in Milan (he said he'd like a new contract) - Gattuso (nothing new - Russian offer) - Ambrosini (nothing new) - Nesta joking with Galliani during a training session when Galliani asked him if he would agree to renew (Nesta would have replied "why did Mexes just get 4.5M and you offer me only 2.5M ?!" with the smile) Anyway, that's a good thing from the management to have stated earlier that the renewals would be given to some of the players at the end of the season, forcing them to play at their best until the end ... The consequence is we have no idea what will really happen in a few weeks ... RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Gabriel426 - 04-12-2011 Dev, understand your point, but as you said Ibra ws the focal point of attack which led to his stats. Borri and Dinho were the focal points last year and they did not have Ibra stats. On top of that, who else can you build your attack with Milan if not Ibra? As for his wages, I did not see any of you complain about it when he was scoring or assisting Mr. can't finish Robinho. One last thing, I stated when Ibra first arrived that Pato will have his best season this year due to the fact that he will have more room playing with Ibra. RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Ca Rossonero - 04-13-2011 (04-12-2011, 11:59 PM)Gabriel426 Wrote: Dev, understand your point, but as you said Ibra ws the focal point of attack which led to his stats. Borri and Dinho were the focal points last year and they did not have Ibra stats. On top of that, who else can you build your attack with Milan if not Ibra? My issue would be Zlatan's cost v. production. He's paid 12 mil. That costs milan 24 mil total after tax. Add 8 mil a year for transfer he is close to 15% of total gross revenue. A player who is CLEARLY paid that much, should perform in ucl (he did not), he should not get red carded before biggest match of year (inter) and then again on his return making him a nonfactor in the most important parts of season. I think Zlatan first half of season was a 9.5 or 10 out of 10. He carried us, but how worrisome is it, when pato's form comes up, when others improve, he gets worse? Yeah it's unlikely we can replace his raw production with anyone other than Messi or Ronaldo. But damn, we got Pato, Robinho and Cassano. We don't NEED Zlatan as much as last year. That's a damn good forward line. We just need to add a 4th for depth. More so that money could go where it actually needs to.. AM, CM, LB, cb cover..... Would you rather have zlatan or ganso + sahin/hernanes?? Also, i fear zlatan won't play well with Ganso if we got him. He has never worked well w/ natural playmakers. He has worked in systems where he gets ball and everyone works FOR him. Addition of players like Ganso/Hernanes etc. who are creative but work with a team would make milan dynamic like they once were under Carlo. I don't think Zlatan leaves, nor am I saying he should. BUT he's an underachiever for all his raw talent (which is second to none), and that amount of money, can really build a better overall team, even if we don't replace him individually. ---- I don;t want to play fantasy football, but I can make a strong case because of financial implications, we can build a better squad without Zlatan than with. RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - WCmilan - 04-13-2011 ibra slows down our play.. RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - abbeyleemania - 04-13-2011 ibra should stay... Pato first should show us that we can depent on full season...Until now he couldnt show it.... (Because of the injuries he had) İbra always failed at high tempo, it was not a secret for all of us... But He is the king in Serie A... İbra is very important for us in league...i want him to stay... İbra makes stress and he is under pressure because of not scoring. He missed easy chance vs Fiorentina, then he tried harder and missed easier chance with same typee of shooting... Then he got sent off because of a comic reason... ibra until now, our most useful player...he got a 15 games MOM of Gazetta while Pato got 7... Ganso proved nothing at highest level, so selling ibra and depending on Pato and him is something fantasy...Like i said before, Pato should show us that we can depent on him full season, i would like to see him without any injuries... Okay, First Pato showed that we can depent on full season then Ganso showed his class...Then we can discuss it again but now i want Pato to stay... İnter sold him because they got Milito and Eto'o... RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - WCmilan - 04-13-2011 Not saying I want him to leave but I see what barca fans are saying about him slowing down play because he does. he should be placed in a lone striker role infront of two CAMS , example -------ibra--------- ---binho---cassano- but even if he is there he would still track back to make the assists, he's been very useful dont get me wrong but idunno.. RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Hitman - 04-13-2011 GeoTav, ca va mon ami? estce que tout va bien???? can you please tell me where you got the Berlusconi quotes on Robinho, I haven't seen them around, it would be better if you tell me what he said entirely.... I was waiting a long time for someone from the management to praise Robinho.. he's been our hardest working player besides Silva all season and probably most consistent too, he never complains when he's benched even though he doesn't deserve to be. I hope Robinho stays. About Ibra, we can't kid ourselves, he was one of the main reasons we won the Serie A this year. He definitely knows how to win his respective leagues... however - I am unhappy with the amount he is getting paid and I am even more unhappy with his performances since January, and even more unhappy about how he flopped in the CL again and even MORE AND MORE unhappy about his discipline in the last two games. His style is sooo important to us, how he knocks down balls, how he assists, how he holds the ball up, but me, just like Berlusconi, don't appreciate this attitude. I don't think it was a coincedence that Berlu began talking about Ronaldo right after Ibra's suspensions. Unfortunately, we have an obligation to buy him and we have no choice. I don't see any player out there with similar style as Ibra (closest is Dzeko). Maybe when Pippo retires next year, we can swap Ibra for Balotelli + Dzeko? and about Pato - yes he's been scoring recently and yes his performances besides the goals have been MUCH better.. let him keep this up.... HOWEVER, let's not kid ourselves and think he is currently LEADING Milan (like how Ibra did in the beginning of the year)... Pato, at the moment, is merely one of eleven starters for Milan, he is not someone where we can give him the ball and he can do some magic like Ibra or Kaka. He has the potential, but he is not that player YET. Let him work hard the way he's doing and he will get there - but please don't praise him too much because that's one of the reasons that kept him from growing - he thought he was all that and didn't need to put much effort any more. RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Gabriel426 - 04-13-2011 When Pato was not scoring THREE GAMES ago, some of you wanted him to be sold for 50mil, as your arguments were, he is injury prone, and make stupid decisions, does not play for the TEAM, and that he can never be THE MAN for Milan like IBRA. For all those who began to say Ibra costs too much and that he production had been bad since Jan., I really don't recall any of you saying that in Jan, or Feb or March or THREE GAMES ago. Kept saying Ibra is a UCL flop, but lets look at stats, Ibra got 4 of the 7 goals Milan scored in this year CL. While the other 3 were scored by Pippo, 2 in 1 game, and Dinho. Not sure about you guys, but it were not for Ibra 4 goals, I am pretty sure Milan would have been eliminated in the EUROPA CUP, as they would have not qualify for UCL to the next round. IF Milan did not qualify for the knockout stage of UCL, I am pretty sure we all will be discussing whether or not MIlan can keep hold of their stars instead of wondering which stars they can sign in the summer. RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Ca Rossonero - 04-13-2011 I think you all have valid points on ibra and I agree. The only point is, there is more than one way to win. Losing Ibra would be a blow, but I don't doubt we'd be a better team if money went to say... Hernanes and Ganso. We'd solidify our midfield and play more to pato and robinho (and cassanos) strengths. Right now we play everything thru ibra, and bad form aside, it works. But did it not work w/o him w/ robinho/pato? Ultimately a one player centric system won't ever win a ucl, so if we have ambitions to go farther, ibra has to change. Something he's capable of... but is it realistic to expect from a soon to be 30 year old? _____ In my opinion this team only has 2 irreplaceables. Thiago and Nesta. That's a combo we can't do without for long periods. Everywhere else, Allegri finds solutions. Ibra included. |
