We need depth, so it should be obligation to buy. Then we can cash in 17 million. I like Kalulu, but he has not had that development we all hoped for, of course also because of injuries.

I agree. At RB we have Calabria and Emerson with Jimenez as another option. At CB, we literally have 4 players ahead of Kalulu (Pavlovic, Tomori, Gabbia and Thiaw).
As much hope as I had for Kalulu, and as much criticism as Calabria gets...Kalulu (apart from maybe a short stint in his time here) has never outplayed Calabria. And as a CB, he's more or less been benched by every other CB we have, even Gabbia (who people find to be an easy target to shit on).
It's really hard to argue against a 20M sale for our 3rd choice RB and 5th choice CB. He maybe have "a high ceiling", but that doesn't matter if he can't get there on the field. Injuries have played it's part for sure. But it was very concerning when Kalulu's time on the field progressively deteriorated with each friendly game this pre-season. I think the pecking order (at least as of now) is pretty clear in Fonseca's mind. And unfortunately, Kalulu is near the bottom for both positions he can cover.

I always have a bad feeling when we're doing business with Juventus. They usually come out as "winners".

A sale to Juve should only be considered if the offer is well above the player's valuation imo. If Kalulu is worth 20M, selling him for 20M to a direct rival is a mistake, since him breaking out could directly impact our CL and Scudetto aspirations. Personally, i was really hoping Kalulu would take over from Calabria at RB and be given a run there to see what he can do. He seemed to have potential, but has just become another one of the many wasted young talent at Milan smh

Kalulu is already 24, but selling him to Juve is not a good deal.
And its not even a sell, its a loan. After a very bad season, he can have another bad season and we'll have a broken player next summer.

I wouldnt mind selling Kalulu for 20m, as people said, he is only a backup and 20m aint bad.
But a loan with option is terrible business. We lose a good player for almost nothing and we aint receiving the money to strengthen ourselves.
