An interesting interview with Pato came out where he talks a fair amount about Milan. It's interesting to see his comments, and gives a little insight into his time at Milan. A few things that struck me were:
- Berlusconi never hid his admiration for Pato and I guess for him it was a little like it was for me, in that I saw Pato as a player with the potential to become an all time great at Milan.
- MilanLab didn't deal with his case well. This was pretty much known at the time given his injuries (and those of other playerS), but to say he'd never play again is highly dubious.
- Allegri's man management skills are poor, while Ancelotti's are great. Again, not a shock to anyone, but it shows how important it is to have a coach who can help nurture players, especially when working with young talents.
Pato remains a big disappointment for me, I genuinely think he had the talent to surpass Sheva and probably Nordahl to become our highest scorer ever. In terms of ability, I think he had the potential to rival Van Basten in terms of quality.

Pato's natural talent rivals that of Van Basten, and he shares Van Basten's fate, too. Even crueler.
Anyway, it feels really nice to read that article.
