I thought Cerci's best season was last season, I mean not like he was good 3 years ago or something? and he is 27, pretty young and 3 years younger than Torres.
If it really happens let's see how Pippo will use him, even with out of form players our biggest need is not Cerci's position

I dont think Cerci has any problems at all.. He only played like 90 minutes or w.e in an Atletico shirt and scored a goal iirc. If you look at the very small amount of minutes he got at Atletico he still played good on the pitch.
He openly said hes unsettled in Spain and misses Italy, he was furious when he left really bashing all of Italy for nobody being able to afford him. Every club (Juve,Merda and us) tried getting him according to his agent, but none of us were matching Torinos asking price. Cerci is a fantastic player and this is a great undoing of a bad mistake by Galliani, he deserves credit on this one. Plus, maybe he doesnt fit Atleticos tactics?
Apparently Simeone wants him playing as a support striker with Mandzukic because he sees Turan as untouchable on the RM role where Cerci should be. I dont think its fair to criticize Cerci at all, coach wanting him to play out of position and a new country, new league, different football.. Not many players would do well under those circumstances. However, Mandzukic felt more comfortable playing on the right side of attack as a striker, so that would have left Cerci drifting off more to the left where Griezmann has done well for Atletico recently, since he is a LW. Cerci could do decently as a CF, but as far as Im concerned he should only be playing RW or RM because thats where he really excels with his speed and dribbling.
Anyhow, new reports on Milannews say that Milan want Cerci in Dubai for the 27th of December for training.
I would throw Honda and Torres Atleticos way to make Cerci permanent.

The only downside of this transfer is that Milan will keep paying Torres' salary, which is higher than Cerci's

Call me cynical, but I cant help but to feel like ELS is a goner after this season. Cerci is a good player who we should have gotten in the summer already. But now that we have ELS, Menez, Cerci, Honda, Niang, Pazzini and Suso coming in next summer, we have way too many strikers as it is. Without needing ELS to carry the attack (you have to think Menez, Cerci and Honda will be the main options in attack), ELS to me is as good as gone. And of course, there is always that budget thing, which seems to get worse for no reason every year.

I think Cerci can do well at Milan. His natural game is what Honda's supposed to be doing and was doing during the start of the season. As Reza says though, this is just "undoing" a mistake Galliani made in the summer. The club still need to find a striker and midfielder imo.

if we keep paying torres' wages, does atletico pay for cerci's?
tbh if we're gonna have him for 6 months but pay torres for 18 its a very bad deal

I think it's just an exchange of loans....but keeping the original player wages. So like you said...we pay Torres and they pay Cerci basically. It is only for the duration of the loans. It's unclear if it is going to be for 6 or 18 months at this point but more reports point to the 18 month deal.
Either way....this is a great deal. Honda will be gone for a month and we needed a player like Cerci, and it's great that we got him for free. Let's see how he does for the next 6 months and then go from there. The important part is that he helps us to 3rd place hopefully.
We still need a technical CM, though I doubt we'll get one because those cost money.
About Cerci, most people know him obviously and think of him as an all-out winger (he is a winger) but it's interesting that he had his best season in a counter-attacking Torino as a somewhat of a support striker to Immobile. He did stick somewhat to the right side, but it wasn't a 4-3-3 that Torino was playing last year (at least not on the field) and it was basically 2 strikers in Immobile and Cerci, out of which Cerci was deeper and preferred the right side.
He gives us options tactically but also makes us a bigger threat on the counter and transitional play. Fits Pippo's plan I think nicely.

So whats this stuff that Cerci prefers Inter to us ?..But Atletico want Torres so need Cerci to go to Milan.Theyve made it clear if he doesnt choose Milan he'll rude out the next 6 months on the bench.
Mancini still says he wants Cerci & if very optimistic in the possibility of BUYING (not loaning) him.
Could be B.S but Milan have officially announced players signed before when they dont.
I notice too that when Milan say theyre in talks for a player and the stories go on longer than a day or two the player usually goes elsewhere.
