Dumb? Cerci has been as little successful at Atletico as Torres has at Milan. We're just exchanging problems. Sagrin

Cerci also hasnt really been given any chance though.. Plus, its strange that himself and his wife said they were disappointed that they had to leave Italy for Spain, right after he said how happy he was to be playing in Spain because its more competitive. I think Cerci is having a hard time adapting to life in Spain, like most Italian players - they find it very hard to leave Italy and never want to. Unfortunately, the better Italian players these days are being forced to leave due to Italian clubs not having the $$$ to buy them anymore. I really dont think Cerci and Torres are the same problem at all - I think Torres is a past-prime problem, whereas Cerci is having a hard time adapting to life in Spain and desperately wants to return to Italy. I would take Cerci in a heartbeat no questions asked, especially over Torres. Unfortunately, it might just be a loan deal while Id prefer it be permanent.. but anyhow.

We need to try offloading ELS IMO, while hes still worth some good money. We need to invest in someone like Draxler and Depay. The way I see it, big investments for us will probably only ever come on younger players now, because theres more probability of a return on our investment, and given our financial state it just seems the smarter thing to do. Anyhow, those two are examples of youngsters that perform at consistently high levels, I dont necessarily mean them two in specific. Mind you, Id rather have the old ELS back any day, but its been quite a while now... We saw what happened when we kept letting our connection with Pato get in the way of selling him before it was too late, and we couldve got 40m out of him.

There are some other deals we might be able to snatch up.. Our old Mr X Hamsik doesnt seem to be too thrilled playing for Napoli anymore, and has been benched several times.. We should also try snapping up a fallen out defender prospect like Nastasic, I think hed be a perfect signing. If not, someone like Schar would be great too given I believe hes free in June.

Draxler and Depay are worth as much as El Shaarawy or even more. They've been linked with the biggest clubs, there's no way a Milan in decline could get them. Also Hamsik, he's still considered a great player and clubs in England would easily offer £25 million for him if he was available.

I'd also swap Torres for Cerci, because we know Torres doesn't work. We don't know that about Cerci. And yes, they are different, Torres is over the top. But Cerci has never even been close to the top level of Torres' good days.

RE: Winter mercato January 2015 - Jay Crisp - 12-23-2014

The Cerci Torres swap rumours are strong. However I think it will be an exchange with Cerci coming on loan at first with a buy out set in place for €14m at least , maybe in installments.

We're also linked with M'bia Munoz Suso & Mori who have expiring contracts.

On SES , if he is sold for €25/€30m like has been talked about ,it wont be spent on a Draxler or a Depay (just examples as was said) it will be used to balance Milans books.
I see a combination of 2 or 3 from Mori Munoz M'bia Suso Tarrabt with an attempt at Cerci being as good we'll do in the next 2 mercato.

Via @milanello

Marca claims that @Torres is willing to give up more than half of his salary in order to return to Atlético Madrid.

Yea like I said, Depay and Draxler are just examples.. There are many good young players out there we could replace ELS with.

As far as Torres and Cerci, its true Torres was a great player, but that doesnt matter now. Cerci will add far more to this squad than Torres will IMO. Honda has been doing well on the RW but is a little bit of a static player, wed have a lot more fluent speedy movement with Cerci at RW, it would allow us to come into games with a different attacking approach IMO and give this team even more playing options and that much more depth. While I do think we need a few more high quality players to be competitive again, one thing we wont be lacking afterwards is good depth. I like our versatility of players, now we just need to get rid of some more deadwood and make the effort to bring in a quality player in attack, midfield, and possibly a young defender prospect like Nastasic because Alex is a short term solution, Mexes is getting old, Zapata isnt someone Id want starting every game, and Rami I cant complain.

Munoz used to be a hot prospect back in the day.. Interesting if we did take him. I dont know who Mori is, I think Mbia is another Muntari quality player, he was very good at Marseille back when, but since joining Sevilla has been alright nothing special from what Ive researched. Im pretty sure Suso has been done for a while, it wont surprise me if he comes tbh, and hes about as exciting as our mercato might get because hes the only player that really interests me so far.

Its strange that were being linked to Cerci, and Suso (right midfield or wingers), when Torres is close to an exit and it also seems like Pazzini leaving is almost as imminent. We should be looking for a good striker now, I have a feeling we will regret not doing what we can to try buying Kramaric. His numbers are very very impressive, if he can put up 30+ goals in his current league that would at least translate to 12-15 goals in a league like Seria A which is still sufficient enough for a player of his age. I know the math and reality is way too variable, but I dont doubt hed do well in Seria A

RE: Winter mercato January 2015 - Jay Crisp - 12-24-2014

We're linked to Cerci because theres a chance to get him on loan with Torres. We're linked to Suso because he's free in June and has shown some good signs.
Even if Pazzo & Torres both leave we wont go looking for a good CF.Milan have and will continue to snap up cheap or free players regardless of need position and sometimes quality.

If its to continue this way Cerci & Suso are okay.Id look seriously at Uchida Schaar Ayew Gignac Munoz even try for Khedira.Providing Agazzi Zaccardo Essien Saponara Matri Noce Birsa Alvertazzi are gone for good.

Its being claimed now that Chelsea will use Torres to get a new player offering to Spanish World Cup winner and cash for a player.Top of their list is Malcom from Corinthians.Torres would likely refuse this move but Chelsea are also interested in some of Atleticos players.

RE: Winter mercato January 2015 - ACMILAN1983 - 12-24-2014

Galliani has commented today that there's nothing for Cerci right now, but doesn't rule out signing him.

There's also rumours doing the rounds that Destro's a real target.

RE: Winter mercato January 2015 - WCmilan - 12-24-2014

Whereas Sky Sports reports Cerci to Milan and Torres to Atletico is done!

Apparently Torres will go to Atletcio for his year and a half loan, and Cerci will also be with us for a year and a half. Thats a great deal if you ask me, we practically get a very good player for free because a full season and a half is a lot of time, sometimes players you purchase dont even stay that long.

RE: Winter mercato January 2015 - Jay Crisp - 12-24-2014

Milan Channel says Cerci loan is for 6 months.Other places say 18months.I dont care now Torres was crap Pazzo is done Niang doesnt play SES is just not producing.Cerci is welcome
