RE: Summer Mercato 2022 - Bennacer - 04-08-2022

If Zlatan accepts 2 mill each year, we will save 5 mill on him. Roma is history we will save 5,5 in him. Castillejo will probably be gone, 1,5 mill there. Kessie will be gone. Saves a lot there to. would also seriously consider selling Rebic before his worth decreases. He earns 3,5 mill each year, quite a lot for a sub who dont perform. Just on these players we will save around 18 mill and probably get 15-20 mill for Rebic.

I understand that we have a strict salary but on the paper, we could absolutely give Dybala 10 mill and still have a lower salary budget. The problem is that every player then will have a new and dramaticly better contract. That would be chaos. Why could Dybala have 10 mill when i got 5 will Leao think. Of course he will probably accept offers from City, PSG if they give him 8-10 mill. He is not stupid.

Lets see. These rumours is probably not true.

Almost all the players you mentioned will have to be replaced by someone who would also need a salary. Giving €10m to Dybala is out of the question I think. Firstly €10m is a lot and secondly it would potentially mess with other players' heads with regards to their salary demands and expectations.

RE: Summer Mercato 2022 - Bennacer - 04-08-2022

Absolutely and to be clear: I am not in favour of signing Dybala with such a fee. As you said, that will create chaos within the salary structure.

My personal opinion is that we should not look for a great number 10, but change formation this summer to 3-5-2, IF Botman, Sanches and Berardi all will be signed. Berardi is a hard worker and i think could play as a RW in this formation. Theo can bomb forward as much as he can, and Leao could be closer to goal, and create more numbers in the box. In our formation today bot Leao and Theo on the left is a little to much, because they both are very mobile, espescially Theo, so Leao will benefit to play as a SS i think.

Maignan- Kalulu- Botman- Tomori- Berardi- Tonali- Bennacer- Sanches/Adli- Theo- Leao- Giroud/New striker. I think we would dominate every midfield out there at least on paper.

In defence Kjær and Gabbia will step in. In midfield Pobega/Adli/Sanches would step in, Krunic if he stays. On the left we could have problem if Theo needs rest. Rebic or Leao is not good enough defensively in this formation i think. Parisi? On the right bot Saelemakers and Calabria can step in. On top we have Zlatan/New striker.

I think a team like this could be dominating force. My only question marks would be Theo reserve, Leao as a SS, and if Berardi can handle such a formation.

Sounds excessive. Should be negotiable.

RE: Summer Mercato 2022 - ACMmike - 04-08-2022

I highly doubt we'll have issues affording Dybala's wages. I posted an article here a while back about how Maldini and co cut our wage bill less than half. It's only like 70m now and apparently Elliott has given the OK to stay below 100m as long as we are playing CL regularly.

We have a lot of big wages we could offload as well. Kessie is gone, Roma can go, Zlatan is on huge wages for his recent contributions etc.

All in all I think we're in a good financial position and multiple reports say we'll spend 100m this summer.

100% correct. We will have the possibilty to do so. The problem is that we as a club has a strategy that says that really special players(Like Zlatan and the offer for Donnarumma) can have a salary for maximum 7 million i think. No one goes above that. To be honest under Elliot we will probably never be a club of superstars, because when they reach a certaint level they will be hunted down by clubs with loads of cash and salaries of 10 mill +. As i said before everything has as price. You can love the project and the club, but when Man City offers double salary and guaranteed starting spot you dont say no. I think about Theo, Leao, Bennacer, Tomori etc.

Until we get a new stadium, and drasticly increase our renevue i think we will be a sort of farmer club to the big guns. i really hope the opposite, but money talks, its so easy as that.

Nothing would create more bond to the club if players like Theo, Tomori, Leao have the same passion for the club as Tonali. We can only dream. Time will tell.

I wanted this kid at Milan. Perfect vice Leao and his agent is Zaccardo and was recommended to us by Kaladze.
Rebic has offered nothing all year for one reason or another so cashing in on him and signing Khvicha would of been great.

Get onto Adam Hložek!

Yeah. really missed the boat here.

That's another player who looks the goods and looks like he could be a star.

This. we will have the space to give Dybala what he wants but SHOULD we? probably not.
That's the point in cutting all our wages only to start spending stupid money on players again. Particularly on a player that is not without risk... With injury problems and average performances, we don't know what we'll be getting to be spending top $$ on him.
I'd rather not go for Dybala and sign another potential Leao/Tomori/Theo/Tonali.
We're not yet in a position to go for the best players yet IMO. not without risking pulling an Inter(going all out to win things at high cost).

RE: Summer Mercato 2022 - Aficio - 04-09-2022

The media has done its job!

Dybala surely ignites controversy.

We hate the person + wage, yet love the football abilities.

IHMO: let's find a balance.

RE: Summer Mercato 2022 - ACMmike - 04-09-2022

I think Dybala is a great signing even on 8m. He's free.. You're talking about a 28 year old still in his prime with a lot to offer who was easily 100m a year or two ago. Even if he costs us 20-30m in wages over a 3-4 year deal he's still a bargain because you don't get that quality for 20-30m euros maybe even half the player he is. I mean Berardi will cost 15-20m let's even say 15m plus 3m of wages for 3-4 years another 12m.... He'll cost us nearly same as Berardi lol

I would take him, as much as I love Zlatan I would sacrifice his wage for Dybala
