I find the Pato situation as it ended up quite a sad one.
For whatever reason the guy just could never realise his potential on a consistent basis and his injuries were ridiculous.
He seems a decent bloke - AC Milan Twitter held an official Q&A with him to the fans and I was lucky enough to be answered by him directly, basically asking why in the face of lucrative offers he remained at Milan. He basically said Milan is a family, and he was happy here.
I don't think he left willingly - it included turning his girlfriend into a long-distance relationship.
As for on the pitch? He showed so many glimpses of his quality for Milan, but could not sustain it. I would be surprised if he managed more than 10 matches in a row for us at any point during his time here.

You argument is a bit unfair. People change. It's called growing up.
I'm no huge fan of him - he was an idiot off the pitch in so many ways - that disgusting wedding at 18 was an embarrassment, and getting involved with Babs was absolutely stupid.
But I don't think he is anything like a bad guy - just not a very bright one.
btw, all top stars throw strops if they don't get playing time. Rooney is a classic example, so is Torres. No one wants to be paid £250k a week to sit on the bench.

I truthfully miss pato. If you see how brilliantly he's playing at Brazil (yes, missing sometimes, but who doesn't ?)... I'm following him there and I'm surely saying Milan did good letting him go. Hes not injured as often and playing a lot better. I hope we get him back next year.
