RE: Winter Mercato 2014 - reza - 12-29-2013 We will loan Dzeko back to them until the spot opens (Obviously I made that up but I have seen stranger deals :p ) RE: Winter Mercato 2014 - xudong - 12-29-2013 LOL at everyone going creative and desperate. On mercato, it seems that Roma has also prepared a bid for both D'Ambrosio and Nainggolan. I never really hate Roma but they start to annoy me. A bit like Inter Merda a few seasons back when they did nothing but trying copycat. RE: Winter Mercato 2014 - Warro Bantan - 12-30-2013 Wishing you all a better 2014 than 2013 and a better mercato. Been away for a while as I try to get my life in order. Honda could be a good signing...Nianggolan and Honda would be even better...let's see if Berlu is willing to actually spend in the face of Roma's higher bid. RE: Winter Mercato 2014 - Eli - 12-30-2013 Raiola has just gone on record saying that Balotelli is looking to leave Milan this January. We've heard rumors and denials about this so far but for Mario's agent to go on record with this certainly changes the odds. On another front it's being said that if Seedorf is to take charge he wants Mario out to. I am personally not against selling Balotelli esp for a good sum for I don't think he's someone to built around for the future, yes he may have the skill but his attitude is a zero. I don't mean off the pitch, I don't care what he does off the pitch as long as he puts it all on the field every week for the team. I just don't see that happening. On the other hand there's a lot more deadwood to sell before him, thing is its not easy to find buyers for those, I don't really see clubs racing to sign the likes of Matri, Nocerino, Birso, Robinho & co. Guess it's just gonna be a wait and see situation for now. Oh and Nicola Salerno Cagliari's sporting director is saying there are 5 clubs targeting Nainggolan. Juventus, Inter, Roma, Milan and PSG. It's gonna be tough to compete unless Galliani pulls a miracle with some crazy exchange because financially alone we don't have the muscle to compete esp with the likes of PSG. RE: Winter Mercato 2014 - ACMILAN1983 - 12-30-2013 Yeah, I'm starting to see the Raiola comments elsewhere now too. Imo the club should look to start a bidding war for Balotelli in the summer after the World cup. Hope all is ok, though it sounds like you haven't had easy times of late. To Xu and Elmago on my post yesterday, firstly yes they are solely my opinion and yes I am rather pessimistic on our transfers of recent years. However, I don't think it's unwarranted, as fundamentally for me there have been costs to lead us where we are now. To start off, my "ratings" were based solely on how I felt the transfers benefited the club. It was nothing to do with how I felt about the players. I think it's important to clarify this, because I think it will hopefully help convey my rationale. Van Bommel was good for us. We initially got him for half a season and had we just kept him for that time to help win the scudetto, I would have said it was a good/smart signing. However, keeping him for another season was fundamentally stupid. We already had an experienced DM in Ambro and Van Bommel in that regard only increased the amount of work needed to replace these guys long term. Which leads to the other problem. As with many of our signings in recent years Van Bommel was a quick fix to cover up faults in our squad, rather than making a long term commitment in rebuilding. I love that Van Bommel felt so attached to the club even after just 1.5 seasons, but ultimately sentimentality cannot allow us to make damaging decisions. As for Ibra, he was brought in to win titles and bring a competitive mentality. For that, there's no way I can fault him even if I'm not his biggest fan. However, he cost us almost 30m and in addition to that was earning 12m per season. These are costs which only the big two in Spain, Bayern, Man City, Chelsea and the big 2 in France can afford. Truth is, Ibra was a luxury that we couldn't afford and while it brought a couple of years of success, had we reinvested that money more wisely to strengthening the squad overall and building a new generation (we might have been able to keep Thiago Silva too imo). These decisions may seem nice, but for the long term stability they've cost us a lot, which is why my opinion isn't always the most favourable. It is possible. ![]() Jokes aside, that won't happen. On Dzeko, I'm Bosnian, and thought I wanted Dzeko here some time ago, now I don't think Dzeko would be good for us. Dzeko is a great player, but it seems he lost his passion for football lately, and he's certainly got a mentality issue when facing though competition at a (big) club. Add to that that he's too expensive for us. Let's face it, for 4-5 million a year we will not find a player that is even close to Balotelli's quality. If Berlusconi lost patience with him, he should put half of his current squad on transfer list really. Better and easier than that is to get a coach that could work with Balotelli and this squad. Anyway I think it's all bullshit, story for newspapers. Balotelli is staying, because Berlu and Galli and Barbara, they all know that for under 5 M a year they will never find a player like him, not even in their dreams. As for Dzeko, again no, paper-talk really. RE: Winter Mercato 2014 - honsano - 12-30-2013 @Dev -- The Mino story has recently picked up steam wtih some press referring to that National Article I linked to. I dunno how reliable it is. I do believe Raiola would say that stuff but we never know how seriously we should take him in the end. It could just be that since Mario is in Dubai and so are some Chelsea people a story is born. Here are other articles linking to the same story in recent days: http://www.football411.com/story/0,22162,14287_9094222,00.html http://www.givemesport.com/414343-mario-balotelli-wants-to-leave-milan-chelsea-interested-agent?autoplay=on http://forzaitalianfootball.com/2013/12/raiola-balotelli-is-looking-to-leave-ac-milan/ RE: Winter Mercato 2014 - reza - 12-30-2013 "Michael Essien's agent has said his client will not return to France and is more likely to join a club playing in the Champions League this January." And I thought I was pessimistic.... ![]() This is the most pessimistic and negative opinion, ever lol. How can anyone on this planet claim the Ibrahimovic deal was anything less than excellent? You say it's not good because of the cost, but you are only rating the incoming transfers, and totally ignoring the outgoing transfers. IMO, selling Ibra, Cassano, Boateng and Silva were great transfers if you consider the price we got for them. Other deals were you are completely, unquestionably wrong in your ratings: Van Bommel, Cassano, Robinho, Mexes, Balotelli, Gabriel (only one which I think you've overrated, I think he's been poor, keeping in mind he used a Non-EU spot. These are the only ones which you totally got wrong in my opinion, not even mentioning the others which I think are debatable. Not to mention, how could you rate the following transfers as poor, you've never seen them play! Filkor, Daminunta, Ghiringhelli, Novinic, Previti, Pazaggli, Chinellato.... but then you go and rate Coppola, who's also never played for Milan, as average... my god this post is a joke dude.
