RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - ZvonimirBoban - 08-30-2011

Taiwo with Ziegler, as apparently both are rumoured to disappoint? or maybe Marchisio with Emanuelson, seeing as we need midfielder and Juve need left winger.

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - theaxeofpain - 08-30-2011

Marchisio with Emanuelson would be a decent move IMO.

Didn't Ziegler go to Trabzonspor?

Galliani just said that Milan's mercato is very closed, and the meeting was just to have a chat between friends. Well, at 00 o'clock in the last hours of mercato, it is a bit suspicious, isn't it? Big Grin

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Vulli - 08-31-2011

According to reports from Sky Sports, Real Madrid offered AC Milan Fernando Gago, but Milan has refused him
According to Sky Sports, Genoa have already found a replacement for Rodrigo Palacio (one step away from Inter) and is El Shaarawy. Preziosi has an agreement with Galliani for the loan of the young Italian playmaker, although Galliani leaving restaurant Giannino said: "El Shaarawy remains with us.

Ah, sillyseason comes to an end! Sagrin Now we can focus on what really matters....3 points, for every game. Okmilan

Its difficult, if not impossible to please all the fans....what's important, is that Allegri feels that he has sufficient resources at his disposal. (Not that he would publicly state otherwise). Dodgy

Will we? Wont we? Deadline day jitters.....phew! Done with that! Who we have we have, and who we get, we get.

Regardless of WHO we get (or don't) we will aim to win every match with the squad of players the coach has at his disposal....like we ALWAYS do....

I'm just glad the constant speculation is over...and we can focus on actual football.

Personally, I am a bit disappointed that we lost Pirlo, glad we did "replace" him with Aquilani...glad we got Mexes and Taiwo, sad we sent Strasser, Merkel and Paloschi on loan/co-ownership deals....glad we got El Sharaawy, and hope he turns out to be the gem he's been touted to be...peeved we didnt get Hamisik...and sorry we didnt get Montolivo.

Most of all, I'm ecstatic we didnt have to sell anyone to help Berlu pay his, what, half a BILLION dollar fine?!?!?!!!

All in all....finally, its back to FOOTBALL!!!

And on that note (albeit off topic), I was fortunate enough to get to watch the UCL final in London, and tbh, I have been watching football for a long enough time to know when I see football of a calibre above and beyond what I have EVER seen before.

While I wont bet against Barca beating us in the UCL, I will scream, shout, and jump if we win, and instead of crying and moaning if we do lose (or God forbid, get "spanked" a la Arsenal) I will shake my head in admiration, and admit that the better side won.(Barring of course, calling the Ref and his assistants every negative term known to man if I feel that they robbed us) Devilol

Imagine a line up of Abate, Nesta, Mexes, Taiwo with DM of Silva and MVB, and have Robinho and Cassano on both wings with Ibra and Pato in the middle. If at happens, Milan still have Pippo on the bench.

I don't know the intention, but your tactics sound possible to me, maybe Allegri could read it and try to implement them in group stages Sagrin

What can I say, I am a master of tactics when it comes to offense. Too bad, no professional team is knocking on my door yet.

I'm thinking the best thing to do is put thiago silva at cdm similar to what real did with pepe then put mexes and nesta as cbs..

what do you guys think? I would've liked to have taiwo fit for this game but will he be? Zambro sure would be better defensively because of his vast experience but we need to take into consideration pace.. barca down the wings have unlimited running and fast ones at that, wether it be pedro or sanchez or messi or villa running at our fullbacks we need speed, im not worried at that matter on the right because abate will do well i guarentee it..

with barca there really is no way of blocking them out by just having a defensively compact game, because even if we outplay them completely every player in their starting line up is capable of pulling off some crazy shit and scoring

I don't think that playing a CB in the DM spot will work against Barca anymore. JM did not even bother trying it in both SuperCoppa games b/c he knows it wont work. Since Barca got Cesc and Sanchez. What those two players bring are more options for Barca up front. Esp., Cesc. Just remember the WC final, and see how the Dutch played their defense. Both De Jong and MVB did exactly what Pepe did for Real and once Cesc came in, Spain just came alive.
I really don't think there are any tactics that could beat this Barca team, since they can hold 70%+ possession in a game. IF you park the bus and hit them with counter, you are really playing into their games. IF you want a punch for a punch game, they are quicker than you. On top of that, if you foul hard against them, you will get card more often than not(not so much of their acting but more to do with UEFA and FIFA protecting players from getting hard fouls.) I think the best way to play Barca is to play to your own team strengths and take it from there.

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - sylrus - 08-31-2011

i've watched the re run of barca vs villa
its making my head turn upside down just thinking about how to beat that team
we should just play like we used to
boateng in acm battling for ball up front
ibra must come down to fight to get the ball
and a destroyer in mvb or someone else
and hopefully our left back is playing a superb game

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - bijon - 08-31-2011

I feel sorry for Arsenal, Arsene Wenger is really destroying the morale of those youngsters. He never seems to learn, every year he puts together a team that can almost win everything with a few experienced additions but every year he fails to bolster the squad and every year he looses a few of his top players.

Is he perhaps insane? "“Insanity is doing the same thing, over and over again, but expecting different results.”

The best way to beat Barca, is to, ah, er, ahhmm.....outscore them? Dodgy

Sagrin
Goodluck with that. Theres only one way to beat Bara, you need to deploy a player with the sole task of breaking both Messis and Xavis legs, he does doesn't have to be particularly talented cause he's going to get sent off anyway DevilolDevilolDevilol
