RE: Summer mercato 2021 - Sleeping Giant - 04-13-2021

Isco is completely piece of shit now and course not a starter material for a UCL level club.  No way I will choose Isco over Hakan who haven't done anything since Ronaldo left RM. RdP should be only candidate to replace Hakan.

RE: Summer mercato 2021 - Arildonardo - 04-13-2021

According to GdS Milan will sign both Sandro Tonali and Soualiho Meite on permanent deals this summer.

RE: Summer mercato 2021 - nefremo - 04-13-2021

Isco is a good, technical player. He hasn't gotten up to the expected heights the last couple years, but Real in general has been disappointing since Ronaldo and Zidane left. For 20mil, we are not going to find a better player. Hakan can still stay (under our terms, of course...and not what his delusional sense tells him) and battle Isco for that ACM spot. I see no issue there. The more quality options the better.

The following would be a great market for us and improve us drastically to the point where we can actually be a Scudetto challenger and yes, even a factor in the CL knockouts (with some luck):
1) Belotti - 25mil
2) Isco - 20mil
3) Starting RW (this would be my top signing. Blow the bank on this)
4) Rotation/Back up LB

Of course, I am talking under the assumption that the following happens:
1) Hakan signs an extension.
2) Ibra signs an extension.
3) Gigio signs an extension.
4) Tomori is signed permanently.
5) Tonali is signed permanently.
6) Meite is signed permanently (not agreeing with this one, but I understand it's a cost thing and it's not going to be easy to find another player for 8mil or maybe even less [use Caldara/Conti as makeshift or even an extension of the loan for a small fee])

Is it realistic that we sign all those extensions, retain Tomori, Tonali AND make those acquisitions that I mentioned above? Hard to tell. Probably not with our budget....but who knows, maybe. Some sales would obviously help (Conti, Caldara, Krunic, Samu, Laxalt...even Romagnoli)

RE: Summer mercato 2021 - reza - 04-13-2021

If we make CL I fully expect our budget to be 50+sales. Doesn't mean the 50 can be used on anybody, if player(s) is a 10 million salary it won't happen. Hence you will see some loan or cheap players cause a large portion of the budget is already Tonali, Tomori, etc.

RE: Summer mercato 2021 - honsano - 04-13-2021

I would love Isco. I think he could really do well with our attacking side. However, it’s not possible. These guys on super high salaries are not a part of our project. Think more along the lines of Leao, Tomori, Tonali, or even Scammaca or Vlahovic.

RE: Summer mercato 2021 - nefremo - 04-13-2021

We would 1st have to distinguish what 50mil budget means. Is that cash available to spend? Or is that 50mil expenses we can put on the books as compared to our revenue. It's a big difference. For example, we may buy Tonali for the 15mi and make his deal permanent, but doesn't mean we'll have a cash outlay of 15mil. As a matter of fact, I remember last summer reading somewhere that the permanent move is 15mil to be paid over several installments + 10mil of some bonuses to be paid as obtained. Lets say those installments are 5mil each (very likely to be in this range)...we'd still have 45mil cash left to spend.

I think 50mil (cash) goes a long way. Even clubs that consistently "spend" 100+ mil a transfer window, don't actually pay more then 50mil in cash. It's all installments. Most clubs are cash strapped and it's a revolving door of money in - money out.. The question is, how much in expenses can we add to our books without butting heads with UEFA over FFP again.

RE: Summer mercato 2021 - xudong - 04-13-2021

I heard that FFP itself is under scrutiny and may be on its way out. Any insights on that?

I was a huge fan of Isco, but have stopped following him in the past two seasons, so I don't have a clue if he is still good, decent, or whatever. I still think he will be worthy, but like you, I am not sure if he would be a realistic target due to the huge salary demand. Perhaps we can find a deal with Real Madrid, something like Diaz (we pay 0.5M of his salary, I think Big Grin), and will take time to look for other long-term solutions.

I also wanted to share a joke rumor that I read about Vlahovic: Commisso wanted 50M (or is it 60M?) for him. Big Grin I don't know which was more ridiculous: this or Cairo a few seasons back asking for 100M for Belotti. At least Belotti was better, and back then the football market was more inflationary (thanks to Neymar, Dembele, and co.) before the pandemics brought everyone back to the humble land of reality.

FFP will change to not look at pure profits and losses but at the state of the club such as wage levels and transfers paid, it will take some form of discouraging teams from spending too much. On surface that sounds better for a team like Milan but last I read nothing was decided
