WTF

Cant you understand why so many people like Barca's football? Have you been living in a cave? Their football is absolutely BRILLIANT, even better. Its genius, totally out of this world.
I think every football lover likes barcelona, not only for their football but also becouse they play with 8/9 homegrown players in their starting lineup, giving many chances to young players.
Only real Madrid fans hate, but I guess they are only jealous, barca beats their asses time and time again Big Grin

Go watch some barca games my friend, thats football!! They take it to another dimension, yesterday they played with only 1 real defender and a defensive mid Big Grin

Man, "living in a cave" is an insult, I'm not forcing you but would you please kindly withdraw those kind of words, I'll appreciate it very much.

I watched them vs. Madrid, vs. Hercules, vs. Man Utd, vs. Arsenal, vs. Atleti... and they are really a good team... but what the heck with all this admiration? Yes they are good, but I supposedly support Milan because it is on par with European giants, and I believe we will beat every team when we are on full strength (which rarely happens), so, no offense to you or anyone else, I often became very pissed off when everybody already wrote off Milan against Barca. We were, are, and will always be on world's top level. If I can't believe Milan can beat Barca then I may as well support Barca... but that's me. You're free to say anything but I'm also free to voice my opinions about it.

Barcelona represents the people & the culture of their part of Spain. They representative creativity in Humans, and revolution against the establishment. They do things their own way, a very different way to most. I am a Milanista, but have great respect for Barcelona's club.

Real Madrid represent the Fascist establishment. They generally represent structure & order and €money€ and power. I find that most people outside of Spain tend to gravitate towards Barcelona, not Real Madrid, although I guess both are popular. In the La Liga thread, someone posted Barca's lineup yesterday against Villareal, a top Spain Team. They played with 7 or 8 midfielders, and only one true defender (abidal) who actually attacked up the left flank, lol. What an unbelieveable display, and we're witnessing the evolution of Football before our very eyes....a manifestation of all of Humanity, In my humble opinion....

I take it back, sorry for that, it wasnt meant as an insult, but I just cannot believe people 'bashing' Barcelona if they have seen them play many times. Becouse their play is so impressive its hard to say bad things about them.

Offcourse I love Milan MUCH more than Barcelona. I actually dont have any love for barca, at least not for the club, I do love their play. I also hope Milan will beat them, but when I'm fair I dont think we have a big chance in beating them.

Yes, it is irritating me when everybody supports the "strongest" team right away after they won everything, and then brag about it. Heck I could do it too, but I prefer to support what represents myself. From important to random things: smart buys, good EPIC stadium, most international trophies, 7-times CL winners, nice jersey colors Okmilan, the family atmosphere at dressing room...

I agree. Not about the scudetto part. Smile
Lets kick their a$$ AND win the scudetto.

But I agree with Zvonimir, I am also sick and tired of this Barca enthusiasm out there. They may have many home grown players, but still they spend like crazy, every summer they buy players worth 100 mils and still people talk about their homegrown players. They are just like Galacticos, only successful version. This summer was the worst. They are the best team in the worls and still bought 2 great stars for a lot of money just for the hell of it. Meanwile, their debt is around 500 mils and Spain's economy in the toilet.

But the crowd must be pleased somehow.
panem et circenses

Personally I hate what they did to Arsenal and Fabregas. We chase players and they want to play for us, but we never said things like "He has our DNA", "you stole him and therefore he should come back (we don't need to pay you that much because you kidnapped him)", what the hell. I'd better go to supposedly fascist Real Madrid than those cheaters. At least Real Madrid never sugarcoated their dirty, defensive approach when playing against Barca...

Sorry to get emotional here, but I felt the need to balance what world thinks. It's NOT that EVERYBODY likes Barca. And you don't need to be Real Madrid fans to not like them. Especially when Milan fans seem so consigned of our fate when plotted against them... that just irritates me. We're world's elite team, for God's sake, we shouldn't be afraid of any teams!!!

Okay, no malice intended Okmilan. As I said, when Milan's own fans wrote our team completely off when we faced Barca, I came to wonder what the hell's wrong here.

And sorry for being OOT Sagrin

By the way, finally we can relax our nerves, tomorrow this thread will be closed!! Devilol

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Nalx - 08-30-2011

Why do I get the sense that sour-grape feeling towards Barca in some of you here? Sure their debt is colossal, but most of the clubs were run in red too. Sure they spend 100 M every year, like Alexis and Fabregas this year, but what kind of elephant blocking your sight to see that for years the majority of the spine of the team came from their youth academy? What are those compare to Valdes, Puyol, Busquets, Xavi, Iniesta, Pedro, Messi? Looks like a simple math to me.

And what is wrong with being fanboy who just started to support the team the last year or two? Anybody here declared himself a Milanista in 1996? Heck, I became a fan during the heyday of late 80s. Did that make me less a fan? Who do you think you are to judge other people's affection to their clubs?

Back then Berlu was just as greedy as Barca, buying all sorts of big names, sometimes just for the sake of buying. And it helped us dominating that era. If it's such a gross thing to you, why didn't I read your complaint about that?

Every era has their own benchmark team and their own way of running the team. We had had our moment and now it's Barca's. I mean forget about the debt, forget about politics, forget about our own ambition to be number one in Europe again, forget about any vested interests, in short, FORGET ABOUT EVERY SINGLE THING BUT THE BEAUTIFUL GAME ITSELF. Be honest to yourself, don't you like the way they play football?

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Gabriel426 - 08-30-2011

To mzk57, the point of my post is not Barca abeating Milan, rather it has more to do with Berlu living in a dream world, where he thinks only Barca can beat them. It was not long ago that this team cant even score a goal against the Spurs.

Pls stop these Barca fans trashing. I said in a post earlier, people must start some place to become a club fans. Ask yourself why and how you become a Milan fan? I am pretty sure most of us become Milan fans when they were the dominating force in the late 80s and early 90s and not during the time when they were almost relegated in the mid 80s.
Another thing, Barca might have spent 60mil on two players this year, who they probably won't need, but are they a better team with them? they are and these players seems like they had been playing at Barca for a long time. Which would mean they made two right signings and are not players who were just big names but can't fit their lineup.
Lastly, Barca brand of football is entertaining. Personally, I really can't see why Italian football fans would dislike
Barca football. At least to me, Italian football is about possession and playing tight defense along with being clinical with finishing. That's what Barca have been doing.

As for the game with Barca. I think a couple of things must be consider.
Milan will be without Gattuso and probably Taiwo. The rest should be all healthy by then but this Barca game will either be their first official game of the season or their second game in 4 days.
As for Barca, a lot of their players are out at the moment, not sure will they be back by the first game.
I think the key of the game is not so much Nesta, Silva and MvB against Barca offense. But rather it will be on the
other end, between whoever Barca is playing as defenders Vs Ibra, Pato and Robinho. Also it will be interesting to see how Max approaches the game, if he intends to play defensively like the way he did in the first leg against the Spurs, Milan will have it tough.

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - el fre - 08-30-2011

They are the best, I agree.
They have many homegrown players, I agree.
I became a MIlan fan in the early 90es.
Berlu bought players with his own money, not on credit.

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - ZvonimirBoban - 08-30-2011

Maybe because it is a Milan forum and I'm so pissed off to read comments on how we can't survive against one particular team? Many of your arguments above are debatable but I actually think it's just a matter personal preference... but yes, I won't hold it and I would try to give all of you a little bit about my personal preference, no matter if this is a wrong room or not. No personal attack intended.

Do you read my comments above about how they got Fabregas? May I add that in my eyes, their way is purely disgusting.

I actually start to support Milan when we're 10th in Serie A. In late 90s. Of course I cannot brag about how great our team were back then. And now I feel free to brag anything about the history of a team I supported since I was a child. But I'm not expecting a NEW fan of Barca came on forums or articles and commented about Milan "Hey we're kings of the world football and your team are nothing" added with "Serie A is crap, La Liga is the best cause Barca are there" or "Who are you Milan fans talking about beating mighty Barca" or "your old team would never stand a chance, we are the best in the world". Even Maldini's amount of CL trophies are more than number of year they start supported their mighty team. I'm not saying they won't be true fans, I actually DON'T KNOW if NOW they are true fans or not, but one thing I know, their attitude is disgusting.

Why should I? For me football is philosophy. But for on-field comment, I never liked the system with all midfield they played. I'm a fan of solid DMs (like Gattuso) and solid back-four, so yes I can't say I hated their way of playing, but I also won't say I like them. It's personal preference, you can't say I should like them or not. Just like I said above, it's mainly personal.

I'm not so sure our nerves can be relaxed when the transfer window ends. If it's true our mercato is closed already, as Galliani said, I think a lot of us here won't be too happy... Especially with our midfield.

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - ZvonimirBoban - 08-30-2011

so let's start learning to live with this squad for at least 6 months Sagrin
