As if they prove to be successful, they we all we think they are a plan but if they struggle they will be consider panic buy but then again since they are cheap no one will care. Having said that from the look of it, it is very hard to believe it is a thought out plan to wait for Aqua in order to get the best price possible, since as u said Galli said Mr. X will come at Aug 31 and Milan Milan has not sign any players since then would clubs like Pool think Mr . X is Aqua, thus won't drop the price much.
Pls don't go and say that Galli is willing to wait for Monty as a way to lower his price and a thought out plan signing bc he is free next yr, since Milan needs mid fielder now and Galli pretty much could wait for any players as long as they r free.

It is interesting how some here kept defending the MGT like a religion while others just trash them the way they deserve. As supporters and fans, if they begin to support other teams they are being call traitors, wagon jumpers, sell outs... But r these supporters wrong to support another team where people who run the club actually care for the fans and is willing to put the most competitive squad on the pitch? since the owners and MGT actually do care about the team like the fans? Take Inter fans for example, they r pretty gutted that Eto is gone and the team has not be signing players to further improve since the treble. But Morratti never once came out and state so and so will arrive or Mr. X Y Or Z is coming, rather he just said Inter is poor and can't afford big name signings. U have to give him credits for that.
Ofcourse there is still a week till THE DAY, and Galli and Berlu can sign guys like Mr. X.

In order to get a player, you must deal with his club, the player himself and his agent. The club must agree to sell, the player must want to play for us and the agent must benefit from the transfer. For a bargain buy, the preparation must be better because we must have the upper hand.

Linking with a player doesn't mean we have a plan for him. You're right. Now I have a hypothesis: Each team must have about 10-20 transfer plans for each season and they don't need to tell their fans about them. Each president has his/her own way of communicating, depend on his/her personality. I think you agree that Serie A is full of annoying presidents Devilol (I like it) Morratti doesn't invent the Mr.X Y Z, but Inter fans don't really respect him.

As I said before, there is nothing wrong if you criticize the MGT and I defend them at the same time because of the relativity of the world and we are talking about a general and broad issue. Big Grin

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Gabriel426 - 08-24-2011

Urby is not a DM, but he certainly can play in that role as well as the CM role as a fill in.
Even if Flamini is out for the rest of the season, and MVB is injured for a month or two. There is still no reason for Milan to go out and sign another DM, since they already have Ambro and Gattuso for that spot, along with three players, Slowdorf, Urby and Boateng to fill in plus T. Silva and Antonini.
Beside, why would Keita wants to come to Milan, he is playing for the best team in the world. Unless we are talking about a Keita who is not the one at Barca, then i don't know him.

As for having Kaka, Aqua and Keita being an amazing transfer window. Well, I would not call it amazing, but certainly a pretty good one since Kaka the prodigal son is returning.

I never said you are wrong or I am right, bro. I agree with you about having many transfer plans, heck they should have many, thats what they are pay to do. A while ago, I posted how a transfer would work, and I pretty much stated that in order for a transfer to go through is mainly determined by the need and want of the selling club. If the selling club needs to sell, then that transfer should be a bargain(Ibra's deal), while if the club wants to sell, it depends on how the players play it(Pastore, Cesc, Sanchez), but if the club does not want or need to sell, then the buying club must pay way over market value for the player nomatter how much the player wants to leave(CR9).

Neither did I say you're wrong, mate. You just think differently than I do, so I can learn something by reading your posts. Big Grin

This is not the era of Milan, so I don't want to be so strict as a fan.

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Gabriel426 - 08-24-2011

I think it will be at least five yrs till the era of Milan again.
When you look at how Milan and Real were two yrs ago, and how they are now. You can really see how spending money can help your team improve.
Lets see how they both spent, Real: 18 for Di Maria, 10 for Ozeil, 13 for Kherdia, 5 for Carvalho, 14 for Sahin, 20 for Conteano and 0 for Altimtop. While Milan spent 24 on Ibra, 18 on Robinho, 8 on Boateng, 6 on Papa, 0 on Yepes, about 3 mil for Urby, MVB, Cassano and Dilac, 0 on Mexes, 0 on Taiwo and 8 on El Sharrway. I might have missed one or two, but when you look at it, Real only spent about 19 mil more than Milan over the past two yrs, yet they are the second best team in the world and Milan only in the Top Ten. True that Real got a much better base of potential players than Milan, since age kicked in. However, if you take away the 20mil on Conteano, (who I still think is a Patriotism thing for JM to sign him) would Milan be a better team with Ozeil, Kherdia, Carvalho, Sahin and Altimhop with Ibra then having Boateng, Robinho, Ibra, Papa, Yepes, Urby, Dilac, MVB, Cassano, Mexes, Taiwo and El Sharrway? Just food for thought during the last days of the transfer window.

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - theaxeofpain - 08-24-2011

I really doubt Urby's defensive skills, that's why I'm saying he can't play as a DM. So, with Flamini out a DM is pretty much needed, at least on loan. Only Gattuso, Ambro and Van Bommel are true DMs. It would be suicide if in Van Bommel's place would play Urby, Seedorf, Boateng or Antonini. Thiago Silva is very much needed in the defense, as Mexes and Nesta are slow.

Well maybe not Keita (I only read that we're linked with him, I didn't say he'll come) but somebody else who is experienced and solid in that position would be convenient at the moment.

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Gabriel426 - 08-24-2011

Guess, Palambo will be making his ways to Milan.

Real has been spending vast amounts for years, but they didnt produce any sort of fluid team football before Mourinho came.

That was just a guess, nothing more.

What matters is how they are now? History and past glory is great but everything starts somewhere. ManCity might be over spending....but I really think Mancini is beginning to fine tune the squad and it is only a matter of time before they make something of themselves in CL. Not saying they will win this year but with their financially backing, they could become the 3rd elite team in Europe behind Barca and Real. When you look at City lineup and squad, they are beginning to cut lose a lot of players and trimming, mind you they still have a way to go but the progress is there.

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Revolver - 08-24-2011

Guys let's relax a bit.

This wasn't bad mercato after all. We've tackled all of our weak spots on one way or another.
Good backup center back was required as we had none reliable (and Nesta was fragile), so we took one. Left back was our weak spot for years (it's a bit a nonsense we didn't have a left footed player in our starting 11 at all), so we brought one. Seedorf was too old to be in form for the whole season, so we brought a midfielder to replace him. Furthermore, mercato isn't finished yet, there's a time to bring in another player.

Talking about players that arrived, I'm a bit disappointed how we're bashing them already. Let's talk about them...

I can't say much about Taiwo, all I know is he's a beast and he has a hell of left foot. At least he has an x factor.

As for Mexes and Aquilani... I can't believe how some people here bash both of them like we're talking about player who'd not played in Serie A for years.

Talking about Mexes like "average" or "solid backup", it's ridiculous. Since his first days in Roma, Mexes was/is a world-class talent. If it wasn't for lapses in concentration and frequent lost of nerves Mexes would be among CB elite right now. He was great with Spaletti, he developed even more since that, all he need is a right guidance. If Allegri could treat Mexes the way Spaletti treated him, he could be great for us. He could even replace Nesta.

Aquliani was fantastic midfielder when he was in Roma. Mark my words, fantastic! I still remember Real Mardid - Roma showdowns in CL (I don't remember the year though), Aquilani was the best player on the pitch in those matches. De Rossi and him were most talented CM pair our there. Then, frequent injuries came and ruined him. Roma decided to sell him because they were in crisis and they needed money. And Aquilani was their most expensive player at time, bar Totti.
Liverpool wasn't the club for him, as simple as that. A team (bar Gerrard) with lack of ANY player who could play the ball, possession play which Aquilani was accustomed to since his Roma days. Then in Juve he wasn't bad at all and he played out of place. Aquilani is dangerous when he's closer to opponent goal, where his creativity and venomous right foot are exploited. He's not a deep-lying playmaker ordered to sit back like he was in Juventus.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying we are buying a world-beater for 6M, I'm just saying that the guy has a talent in abundance and if he is able to stay fit he could be great. Mind you that we bought Seedorf 8 years ago who was a reject at Inter and he was brilliant for us (still is) and he was nowhere as great before us.

If you want may opinion, we're not CL contenders like this but we're not bad at all. If I was Galliani, I would sell Robinho and get us a proper midfielder but I know many people here will disagree and after all that's just me.
