The La masia players already had this ingrained in them, so he had a head start. He just had to make the necessary changes with the rest of the squad. Now that he's "Pep", it's obviously easier to get a response from even the biggest superstars....but that's always been the difference between managers in the style of Pep (and Rangnick) and managers in the style of Carlo (who will adapt his own style to mould the players he has in order to get the best of them).

Take Sarri for example (Pep style manager)....why wasn't he able to replicate Napoli's style with Chelsea or Juventus now. Both those squads had/have more talent than the Napoli he trained. Theoretically, he should have been able to do it. But the problem is names. You are never going to get Pjanic to play as simple as Jorginho. Jorginho came in as a nobody to Napoli. He had the ability, and Sarri made sure it was easy for him to do as he was told. On the contrary, it's definitely not as easy with Pjanic. No matter how many times Sarri tells him to play 1-2 touches, short passes, simple triangles....it's just not gonna happen. Pjanic will always try to do something more than that. Because he's capable of it and he knows it. Throughout his career he's been given the keys to a midfield...and you think now Sarri will make him play a simpler and quicker game? No way! Multiply Pjanic x10 at Juventus, and it's simply impossible to replicate Napoli's style.

So if we want to see what Rangnick did with RB done at Milan, than these young guys is the way to do it. Let him do it and let's see. If we wanna sign bigger, more established players than the ones we are being linked to...than Rangnick is probably not the guy for us since I don't think he'll be able to replicate RB's style and success here with those players.

I hope Gigio, Paqueta, Theo, Bennacer and Leao stay. Would be really unpleasant to lose Theo if he wants to jump ship along with Maldini. I really hope Paolo decides to humble up and stay. Let him work around people like Gazidis, almstadt, Moncada and Rangnick. This would be a great crash course for Maldini to learn from experienced successful professionals. It is very important for his growth as a director for him to ignore his ego and stay.

Certainly a new ownership will one day come along and they definitely will want Maldini back. An experienced Maldini at that time would be much better than an inexperienced one who decided to jump ship because his friends got sacked/left. He has to let go of pride and stay. I hope he does.

Pierre Kalulu has been on AC Milan’s wish list for quite some time now. The 19-year-old, who plays as a right-back for Lyon, is a player that chief scout Geoffrey Moncada has followed and recommended the club to sign. I would remove Paqueta from that list. I do like the guy, but I don't think he has the characteristics and willingness to grow and play the style Rangnick wants.
