A question for you (yes another one!), what do you make of Douglas Costa (currently at Shaktar Donetsk)?

Similarly to Dev, i think Sandro could be a good purchase for us, he has a bit of everything. A physical presence to do a screening/defensive role but the ability to do a box-to-box role. Unfortunately i think he'll stay at Spurs, unless we pay a ridiculous sum.
Thanks, my friend!

Regarding Douglas Costa, thats a boy full of talent. At Grêmio he had some behaviour "problems" eraly on his young career, but I think it´s nothing that serious. Thats a Brazilian player that fits better at the side of the field(a rare thing) as a false winger, mostly at the right besides to be left footed because he has a fierce shot.

Full of skills , good work rate, a great shot from outside... I really can´t understand the hype on Di Maria(talented, no doubt) and the silence on Douglas since both play the same role... 10 years ago, not only Douglas but also William would not be playing at Shanktar but in one of the big 3 leagues of Europe.

I just do not want him on Milan, because I don´t think he fit our traditional scheme, because the talent to play in a big club is there. Imo he´s born to play in a 4-3-3 of Barças or Mourinho´s Chelsea style(did you understood my point?). If I was a EPL team I did not let Douglas leave for Ukraine for that type of money...

I talked about Sandro at the same time I started to hype Giuliano here(after South America under-20), but with our style of play(Pirlo´s role), I suggested Hernanes or Arouca would fit better than Sandro there. But the guy is a beast(and so smart), that he will dominate the holder position for years. Plus, he isn´t violent and reckless as Mascherano, who I also rate high as a #5, but can´t trust him for long periods...

But at the box-to-box role, imo Arouca or Jucilei are better than Sandro. At least in my view. Still baffles me no Big or middle club of Europe made a real bid for one of them. Some people aren´t doing their jobs...

i asked in the Mercato thread but i'll ask here also, which Lucas from Sao Paolo were Milan linked with Lucas Piazon or Lucas?

RE: Brasileiro: our Brazilian scout - Beppe - 03-27-2011

both. But most recently with Lucas Marcelinho from Sao Paulo. And now Lucas piazon has moved to chelsea.

yeah i asked in the other summer mercato thread also and mentioned that there, i guess the priority is Ganso even though i get the feeling he might be hyped up a little too much.

Yep, you´re right.
@kaka1899, we can´t wrong with both(Ganso or Lucas). They bring different qualities to the #10 position, it´s up to the coach preference. They also can play togheter if a team is willing to pay...

Btw, both Santos and São Paulo (like I said before) are tough Clubs to negotiatea purchase... unless they´re under special conditions.
EDIT: Enjoy...

Brasileiro is it true that your press are convinced now that Inter have won the race to sign Ganso?
also having never seen Ganso play my first reaction is to prefer Lucas having seen him play, he looks a very good player but who is better Ganso or Lucas?

They´re talking about Inter at the front of the race(Leo factor), but it´s not finished yet. It´s wide open right now.

Allegri(not only galliani) will need to show Ganso some love, because no one can´t deny hear good thing for your future coach build some confidence.

Both are spetacular... But they´re so different that you can fit both at the same midfield. Hard to tell... it´s up to the type of game you want to play.

I watched Brazil - Scotland yesterday and although I've always been very excited about Neymar, he definitely announced himself on the international stage yesterday. A superb performance, albeit he still needs to mature his game.

I was also very excited at the prospect of seeing Lucas and he didn't disappoint either. I knew he was quick and a good dribbler, but I really love his acceleration and low centre of gravity. He moves a little like Messi with the ball, as he's direct, quick, good close control and can't just be knocked off the ball with his low centre of gravity. If rumours are at all true and we could have him, I'd be very happy.

That said, I do still feel we need Ganso, more than either Lucas and Neymar right now. We have often spoke of a Pirlo replacement in recent years, and the closest I think we'll find in the modern game is Ganso, even if he's not a Regista, but a traditional playmaker. Like Pirlo he dictates games, the pace of moves and directs attacks. We have sorely missed this sort of player this season with Pirlo injured.

Ganso's agent is in Milan to meet with both us and Merda.
