Breaking
@Planetmilan
Local news: Mexes has asked to be sold. Carvalho negotiations at advanced stage. Galliani also pushing for Sakho

RE: Summer mercato 2012 - Beppe - 08-24-2012

I read that the Ze Eduardo deal is back on track! olé

RE: Summer mercato 2012 - WCmilan - 08-24-2012

Please no

RE: Summer mercato 2012 - Dha Brain - 08-24-2012

Sakho solid better than Mexes, anyway we can get Mbiwa then we'll really get a makeover that I would love

RE: Summer mercato 2012 - LebRN - 08-24-2012

I saw Sakho's 1st match with PSG this season and he was pretty awful. Based on that i would rather we stay a man short in defence than get him (we do have 4 defenders).
However, I have never seen him play any other time so I can't say I'm sure about my judgement. Maybe Geo can give us more feedback even though he always says he doesn't follow the French league much.

On the other hand I've never seen Mbiwa play even one match but the reviews after France's friendly this month were very good. Anyway, I think that if we won't get him now, we'll probably be signing him in Jan for free for next season.

Btw, nice work with the Titanic Xudong Smile

My God this season will be a total disaster. Everybody's threatening to leave, what have we become?

RE: Summer mercato 2012 - Beppe - 08-24-2012

Man City wants to loan out John Guidetti, very talented young striker. If I was galliani I would try to take him, he could be of big help this season, we aint gonna see a lot of Pato I'm afraid.

RE: Summer mercato 2012 - LebRN - 08-24-2012

On another note, seems that the Ze Eduardo case could result in bigger repercussions as there's a lot of talk that Allegri's was not happy that Galliani got him a player which he doesn't know or want and so played hardball and rightly so. I'm glad to see Allegri's reaction to that but there are even suggestions that this could lead to him resigning if need be. That's from milannews based on some newspaper. Regardless if this does end up in a resignation or if Allegri is a good enough coach, hats off for him making sure his opinion counts.
Edit: Acmir just posted this above Smile

RE: Summer mercato 2012 - ACMILAN1983 - 08-24-2012

I don't understand half of these rumours or links. It's impossible to get any real concept of what we're trying to achieve and moreso it just looks a confused mess because we're linked to every player around that has some sort of likelihood of leaving their club. Add to this that apparently every week there seems to be a player who wants to leave us, and we're like a club with a revolving door.

Hopefully the club has it's ideas will be willing to get what we need and continue removing the problems. Looking at the current rumours, here are my thoughts.

Players potentially leaving:

Mexes - If he wants to leave then as I've always said let him go. Personally, as many of you will know, I don't rate him particularly more than Bonera on the pitch, whilst off it I don't value him as a leader in the squad.

Mesbah - I hope we get rid of him, which seems close to impossible right now. The problem is he's a midtable player at best that's been afforded the opportunity to play at a top level club and he knows that leaving Milan at this point will only be a step down.

Players potentially joining:

Ze Eduardo - It seems as though this is a dead deal now and I hope that Ze Eduardo was left angry by it so there's no hope of the deal suddenly re-emergining. I don't understand why this was ever considered a possibility, he's done nothing in his career to suggest he can be relied on and imo we'd be better off relying on our youth products.

Sakho - If possible I'd take him. He was a great prospect only a couple of years ago and is only 22. Add to this that his personal performances for PSG so far this season aren't exactly poor (the side overall have failed, but Sakho alone is not the problem) and we could really get a great prospect for the side. Also, I'm aware both Mbiwa and Sakho have pretty decent passing as well as positional discipline, which if in Allegri's shoes I'd want to test them out in front of the defence.

Mbiwa - It seems as though he won't come this summer, but is a very likely possibility for next summer. We shouldn't lose sight of getting him imo, as he seems one of the brightest prospects around amongst defenders right now. As with Sakho, I wouldn't rule out testing him for DM.

Drenthe - One of those rumours I really can't understand. In the past I wasn't against getting him as he offered variety, but these days he doesn't offer anything we don't have. He can play LB but isn't particualrly better than our current ones, he could play as a midfielder but we already have enough two way midfielders and he's a winger, which we don't play with and already have Urby anyway.

De Jong - I've said in the past and I maintain I won't ever support this guy, even in a Milan shirt. I'm letting personal feelings get involved in this despite De Jong being the kind of player we need, but I think the club needs to hold onto certain values, and having dangerous players is totally against them imo. Van Bommel tested my limits, as he was dirty, but never as bad as De Jong.

Carvalho - Again, a transfer that doesn't make sense to me. He's a natural leader which is great, but at 34 he can't be considered anything than a very short term stop gap. We already have Yepes and Bonera as senior defenders, and while not of Carvalho's quality, they are at least reliable allowing us to build for the future.

Diarra - I don't know why but I tend to struggle to get excited when he's linked to us. He's what we need I guess, but I must admit to feeling uncertainty with him. I'm not against his transfer though.

Kaka - This appears to be the ultimate transfer that goes against what we're looking to build. Ageing, costly and injury prone. If he was a little younger I'd consider him and if he was a LOT cheaper then I'd even consider him now, as he is a player who has the history with the club to lead younger players through. That said, with the current deal proposed, I fear this will be another Ibra solution which might succeed for starters only to leave us with massive problems in a couple of years.

Personally, I hope the club won't look at short term solutions and will continue to build around young talents. In each department I think we should try to find some balance between serniority and youth, with the senior players, like Bonera, Yepes, Abate, Antonini, Nocerino, Montolivo and Robinho using their experience to help the new young talents like Acerbi, De Sciglio, hopefully a new DM, hopefully guys like Mbiwa and Sakho, Boateng, Pato and El Shaarawy develop and provide the core in the next year or two.
