Yep, Real and Barca are at a completely different level now. Maybe it's even pointless to try to catch up with them this summer?

Even if we make 2-3 world class signings, say Schweini, Ganso and Aquillani, we still wont be as good as these teams. Because teams take time to build. Even Mourinho can't build the team in one year.

If we sign someone this summer, we will need at least one year to learn how to play with this team. If we don't make signings this summer, then we are at least two years away from being a top club.

As most of you have said The CL is a dream for the next few years with Barca and Real being the 2 fav again.

I think this is not that bad of a thing. We need to get to 20 scudettos first in my opionion, But this does not mean we shouldnt be signing quality players 1-2 every year for next 3 years (to take place of seedorf, gattuso, etc)

We also have to remember in the CL there is a lot of luck involved too. We played better than Spurs but they moved on. Shalke played the game of there life against inter and they got spanked by ManU (manu lucky they didnt have to match up against a stronger team)

We need to make it to the knock out stage ( which i think we will) and play our asses off and have a little luck roll our way (no injuries, weak team match up , etc)

Im worried Cassano is going to leave ( he looks soooo unhapppy when he is playing lately) I just hope someone with the energy of 21 yr old virgin with the skills of a veteran porn star be signed in his place.

Great Article on Barcelona. In summary, the author says that Pep Guardiola wants to creat a team of SuperMen; 11 players who play like Gattuso/Messi Hybrid's. Total Football with no positions but players who play interchangeably like blood cells in a body... Barcelona is already scary but if they start playing with 11 midfielders all 1 touch passes and they start scoring 10 goals per game, it will be scary...

Perfect teams do not exist. This was proven time and time again by Real Madrid galacticos. Sagrin

Well, considering the position of them,
Neuer is a GK, and you rarely see a GK struggles moving to another team, simply b/c they are doing the same job, regardless of what formation the team plays.

Zapata is a CB but in this instance he is their backup and not starting.

Contenao is just a better all around LB than say, Abidal or Maxell.

Ofcourse, we would like to see them fail to prove that perfect team does not exist....but if they have these three players, the chances of them improving Barca is a lot higher than making Barca weaker.
I would not say Milan was unlucky last year in CL. Since they played the Spurs not Barca or Real or ManU. Spurs got the worst defensive records out of the 16 teams and Milan with all its firepower could not score a goal in two games. Also, Bale and Modric, Spurs keyman, were even 100% on both legs, yet Milan lost. I would not say they outplayed the Spurs and was unlucky not to go through, since they could not even get a goal.

It seems we're linked with Schweinsteiger again. The news is everywhere on the web.

I said it before and I will say it again: Only Schweinsteiger would make us competitive in Champions League.

There's no other player who could fill the holes we have in midfield. It may sound weird but every of four positions in midfield could be potential weak point at the time. Van Bommel is still a great player, but when he's not in the mood you get first 45 minutes against Inter: Just like the first leg against Tottenham, two center backs passing between them, unable to create anything and there's no-one in midfield to come back and take the damn ball, a real pain to watch. Schweinsteiger can play his position equally good, as well as all of the other three positions in midfield.

Then, for other stories about our midfield...

Boateng for left or right midfield, forget that; it will happen as a part of rotation sometimes (preferably against weaker opposition) but nothing permanently. Boateng is so good because he fits in Allegri's AM position so well, as he can press, he can pounce on the loose ball and he can fill the gap in formation when Ibra comes back for the ball. But, for him to create, please no.

For Aquilani and Montolivo, I think one of them could come either now or in January. It will be nice addition to the team, because as of now it's good even for Serie A to get a player as capable as Seedorf, but who could be in form for more than one third of the season.

Ganso... Forget Ganso, as simple as that. He's nowhere near what Allegri needs. Lazy, slow moving attacking midfielder, I really can't see how Allegri would fit him in our team. We had that kind of AM (Seedorf) for good part of last season and we all know how it went.

As for Barcelona and Real, I don't think either of them is unbeatable as both have their weak points. Barcelona is what Barcelona and Spanish team in general always were: Put the pressure on them and they're dead. Athens final in '94. was the prime example, Inter semi-finals was second, the last El Classico was final. If it wasn't for at the times silly Madrid's defense, Barcelona would lose. Madrid's defense is their big weakness, and I would not take them as favorites for CL finals this years just because of that.

Allegri himself told Prince that he's gonna play at midfield, instead of CAM. So looks like it's bound to happen...

Our biggest news this week is Cassano might stay and we nearly signed Xavi 12 year's ago....ah Im getting ripped on in work lol.
Schweinsteiger will play for Bayern tonight in CL and at least that will end wondering and rumours.Because is there any point in trying to sign him if he is cup tied (ofcourse there is , but we need CL ready playesr ) Nasri looks set for City , Dalglish wants to keep Aqualani and will not listen to any offers un £10 Million that almost 12 Million euro 8 more than we want to pay. These are whats being reported its pittyful..2 more weeks brothers 2 more weeks.

Bastian rumors was just wishful thinking, I doubt anyone here really and honestly believe that Bastian will be coming to Milan and help Milan win CL this year.

As for Aqua., well, if I am the Pool owner, why would I want to release him at 5-6mil? Since they actually turned down a 10mil offer from Juve earlier in summer. Beside, Pool can use someone like Aqua here and there this season. Even if he fails this year, I am sure they can still sell him at 5-6mil in Jan or next summer. Why the hurry now?

I still worry about Boateng's defense and in last match against no-named Malmo, he played CAM. I like to see Boateng at RCM, but I haven't seen any proof that he can succeed there.

Well, wishful thinking is the only thing we can do now Big Grin and we needn't wait too long.

About Aqua, I think Galliani isn't serious with him, so in who is he really interested?... in this moment, I hate him...

Mr. X will be Ballack, while the other two midfielders are Deco and Scholes.
