If SAF is out, JM will be in. Honestly, with ManU fan base, unless they kept failing at EPL for a few yrs in a row and don't make CL, their fan base is not going anYwhere. If they indeed can get the new owners by next summer, i can see them signing someone like Neymar or dare I say T. silva, since they will be loaded with money. I read this about a yr ago, stating that ManU actually net close t 80mil a yr, problem is that most if not all of them are paid to banks as interests for their owner purchase loan. Thus if some wealthy owner comes in and actually paid in full, that means SAF has at least 60mil to spend every summer.

But to buy Utd you'll need 800million then pay off a 700million debt..Man city were bought for fup all and theyve spent 400 mil on players ..it's easier to buy a less fancied club and spent buckets of money than buy a Utd Barca or dare I say Milan and by the time you start thinking about players you've spent treble what mansour has at city without buying a player .

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Gabriel426 - 08-16-2011

True, but ManU is actually a team who is netting huge profit while the Barca, Milan, Real or City are not. Beside, I don't think it will be business men buying ManU, it will probably be someone like those City owners. On top of that, I doubt SAF will spend 80 mil on transfer yr in and out. Even though they seemed like spending slot this summer, which in fact they also sold some players and were on tour.

It truly amazes me that after Barcelona win the CL they strengthen with Cesc Fabregas and Alexis Sanchez, two of arguably the most talented players on the market. Can you imagine what uncle fester would have done if we won the CL? I can hear it now "We have a squad full of champions, no need to strengthen, blah blah blah."

We desperately need a WC midfielder (or two) and it feels like we're searching in the bargain bin. I truly hope someone WC arrives, as there is still time, but I am getting worried....

Barcelona's decision to splash more and more cash on the market isn't influenced by smart management, it's influenced by pride and need to compete with Real.

Both of these teams are deeply in dept, and I think this was their last summer to make crazy purchases before FPP, so they decided to take advantage of it.

I hope FPP when kicks in, comes back to haunt their asses.

Sure, you can buy a cheap club like Cesena and then build them up. But ManU is already a huge brand. It would be like buying a small soft drink company and investing all this money to take market share away from CocaCola. Or you can simply buy CocaCola and you already will have the market share.

You get what you pay for. ManU is already a proven brand name that already has the support and is assured huge future cashflows.

FFP won't hurt or even harm any of the current big spenders. Rather it will be an excuse for teams not to spend anything. The gap between the rich and the poor will further divide. Beside, do u honestly believe that UEFA will stop teams like Barca, Real, ManU, City from competing in CL, fully knowing those are the teams that got them huge TV and sponsors deals. Can u imagine what Nike, other sponsors and TV networks will say to UEFA, if they won't allow Messi and Barca to compete in CL bc they could not balance their books.

Milan will be hit hard but certainly not Berlu since he will have a legit excuse not to spend any money due to FFP.

Imagine they sign Neuer, C. Zapata and Contenao, then they will become the perfect team.

Perfect teams do not exist. This was proven time and time again by Real Madrid galacticos. Sagrin

The problem is this, you can't be the big winners (domestic, CL, etc.) without going into debt. Whether FFP changes things we shall see but looking now in 2011 debt is part of the game.

I'm watching a replay of Barcelona & Real Madrid from the other week. The game that finished 2-2. I guess it was the SuperCoppa. Anyways, the level of quality that exists between these two teams currently, not to mention the heart they put into the game when they play each other is insane. It's as if it's the CL Final. Fights, everything.

Barcelona & Madrid are certainly playing at a very high level. Guys like Xavi, Coentrao, Pique, Callejon, & Kaka were on the bench. The high pressure and quick passing in midfield is what makes these teams so strong. Multiple super-stars on each team. This guy Thiago Alcantara is ridiculous, and along with Iniesta, Xavi, Messi, Sanchez, Pedro, Villa, Fabregas, this team is absolutely of a different world.

The bottom line is that as Milan fans sometimes you just have to take your hat off. AC Milan has done a good job getting Ibra, Cassano & Robinho last year. For that I am thankful. However, after my summer of frustration over this extremely awkward transfer market of Galliani's lies, I am content with the squad. This squad will do nothing in Champions League and is no longer a BIG BIG club. It's not about having the money or not. It's that our management does not wish to go into anymore debt as MAN UTD, Man City, Barca, RM does. AC Milan's midfield is not good enough even for Serie A and way off the mark for Europe. This is the way it will be and we must support are club and understand that they are no longer the club they were (similar to Liverpool). The only thing that upsets me is that Galliani should have just explained to not expect any signings as we're broke. Leading us on that we'd get a gift named Mister X was not right. I don't see the advantage of doing that.
