RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Gabriel426 - 08-16-2011 Or after Bayern gets kick out, Milan will go to them with a 15 mil offer to see if he can come on the cheap. Then Bayern said no, and Galli will say at he tried his best but other clubs are asking for too much. RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - theaxeofpain - 08-16-2011 I don't recall Milan selling the stars (Kaka was plagued by injuries, Sheva wanted to go) because of financial worries. We have a better defense and attack than Bayern has (barring possibly only Robben). My point is that, if we have the money, we can sign any player in the world. Anyways, Bastian or no Bastian, I'm still hopeful that one midfielder or two will arrive. RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Gabriel426 - 08-16-2011 U really believe that the sale of Kaka has nothing to do financially? Which players did Milan spend on using Kaka's money? That was not like how Juve replaced ZZ with Buffon, Thuram and Nedved. Kaka left and nobody came. Of course, if Kaka was still in his prime, Milan would have asked a lot more, possibly about 100M. 68M for an injured player is a lot, every club would have done the same in a situation like this. Milan used his money to balance a bit the budget. Thanks - didn't realize Bayern had a CL game tomorrow. If Bastian doesn't play, then maybe these rumors have some legs. But if he does, then at least this story ends quickly. From goal.com: Galliani declared that the decision was taken due to economic issues and that the Rossoneri could not reject such a high offer again. "Milan cannot lose €70 million every year," explained the director to the Gazzetta dello Sport. http://www.goal.com/en/news/10/italy/2009/06/04/1304347/milans-adriano-galliani-explains-reasons-behind-kakas-sale RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - ElMago99 - 08-16-2011 (08-16-2011, 03:23 PM)Gabriel426 Wrote: Or after Bayern gets kick out, Milan will go to them with a 15 mil offer to see if he can come on the cheap. I will tell you of his characteristics.. he's 6 ft tall, handsome, nice set of hair unlike me. It will be a gift from our Presidente" 2 months later........ " Our Squad is good the way it is. Besides Italian teams cannot compete because of FFP (even though it doesn't start until next year). And by the way, the guy was too expensive anyways. This market is crazy..." As I said above, the offer was very good to refuse for a player who had problems with injuries, and every club would have sold him. Milan used the money to balance the books. RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Aficio - 08-16-2011 The Glazer family want to sell MU. http://www.goal.com/en/news/9/england/2011/08/16/2622551/glazer-family-prepared-to-sell-manchester-united-amid-reports-of- This club can only get stronger. Realistically, they cannot keep their cycle going forever and are bound to suffer a downturn when he retires. But MANU is certainly building a fan base over the last 2 decades that won't disappear. It amazes me that a team from Manchester could be one of the top teams in the world year in year out. Maybe SAF is the explanation, but certainly fan support contributes big time to their financial strength. SAF will go away someday, but the fans will continue to buy tickets and kits and everything else. And fan support will result in corporations dumping bags of money to be associated with MANU. |
