RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - WCmilan - 08-14-2011

Kaka has lost a lot of his pace but he is still fast enough, before he was on another level in speed it might be match fitness when have we seen him play more then 3-4 matches in a row? He's been out for a while maybe its a form issue

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Aficio - 08-14-2011

From the recent highlights, I think Kaka's skills and even some speed are still there. The problem is that he has lost all of his motivation and confidence. Sheva's case is not different. One more thing to consider is both were the kings of Milan, became the outsiders in new clubs, then was the outsider when coming back (Sheva) because there was another king (Kaka), and we have Ibra now.

If Gallinani wants Kaka, he must consider carefully. As a fan, I enyoy watching Kaka in red & black again, but I can't have high hope on him.

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Nalx - 08-14-2011

Sheva's two years at Chelsea were hampered by injuries alright, but this soft spot for him in Galliani cs made them ignore it. Even I, who was deeply angered and bittered by his exit, thought more or less the same and pretty much welcomed him, thinking "Well, it was because of those injuries. Now let's see what he's got now that he's fit."

He was fit throughout the season, had no weight problem, or anything else. But he just didn't have it in him anymore, no pace, no predatory instinct, nothing. And it made me sad to see his performance spiralled down so drastically in two years. But we shouldn't let this hopeful, nostalgic feeling cloud our evaluation, especially since we have a long list of the same mistakes in the past.

Borriello?

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Nalx - 08-14-2011

LOL.. To every rule there's always an exception. Perhaps Bori's second stint looked better because he was sooo bad in his first stint though he was rarely given a chance. But I stand firmly on my argument and the long list of names that I mentioned, mate.

I would love to be proven wrong if it means we'll win scudetto/UCL again with Kaka, but the way I see it, it just won't happen.

You're great, mate Sagrin

Hm, nevermind, I'm not a big Borriello fan, mate Smile

Why I mentioned Rijkaard before, that these things indeed can happen occasionally with world class players too. And if it could happen at Ajax, then it could happen anywhere. Unless Milan has some special attributes as a club that would prevent this from happening.

Anyway my preferred player for the role would've been Pastore, but that boat is long gone. So currently I'm kinda torn between Kaká and Ganso. Each of them has its own merits and drawbacks... But I think the fact that Kaká played for us before, objectively cannot be considered a drawback. As for his injury history, well thats indeed one big negative on his side.

I got curious, so I made a quick comparsion between Shevchenko and Kaká. Shevchenko spent two seasons at Chelsea after he left Milan. From 51 starting apps he scored 20 goals and made 11 assists (as a striker). Kaká is currently in his third season at Real Madrid since he left Milan. In his first two seasons he made 40 starting apps, scored 16 goals and made 13 assists (as a playmaker).

So maybe Kaká did slightly better at Madrid from less apps, but not significantly... What is interesting, that when Shevchenko gone to Chelsea, the London club had a coach named Mourinho... And when Kaká left to Real Madrid, the Spaniards just signed the very same coach. Maybe it's Mourinho's tough coaching method that breaks Milan's players? Smile
Another similarity between the two is that Shevchenko wasn't requested by Mourinho at Chelsea, he was bought because Abramovich wanted him. It's almost the same with Kaká, Mourinho not requested him, it was the new Real Madrid president who bought him, to win the elections.

So, quite interesting parallels between the two.

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - payne - 08-14-2011

i have already lost way to much love for kaka, and i would NOT want to see him back in a milan jersey.

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Gabriel426 - 08-14-2011

I don't buy this second stint must sucks stuff. Since it has more to do with the players himself more than anything. Beside, if Kaka is to arrive in Milan now, he is a sure starter and the most offensive and creative midfielder Milan have. Same cannot be said with Sheva.

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Jay Crisp - 08-14-2011

I want younger players that can be here for 6 years or so.
And sure Mourinho didn't request Kaka cos he wasn't managing Madrid when they bought him..I post that in a totally cool way no smileys on ma phone Brah.
I don't care who we get now we'll get someone but not a WC or potential WC player ..most likely a good player solid dependable but injury prone...KAKA/AQUA and I thought mr x was almost invincible or was that dr x.
