Aquilani and Montolivo IMO will be used mostly as valid alternatives for the LCM (Monty) and trequartista (Aqua) spot, at least if they don't impress that much to put Clarence and Prince (Robinho) on the bench. But IMO they would do well if given a quality team to work with.

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - ACM1899 - 08-13-2011

Was that news on goal.com about Ganso fav team being Madrid bs?

I think Cassano has to stay. He did well for us last year and he will do better this one.
With Robinho usually tracking back cant we use this line up

R70-MVB-Prince
Cassano
Pato-Ibra

?????????

Neither of Boateng or Robinho are classic midfielders... meaning we are likely to have problems with either attacking or defending abilities with this line up.

U have a great point.

I know im a R70 fan club president but most of you have to admit the guy brings some much needed energy to the team and he opens up sooooo many spaces for others. What Im trying to say is how do we get him and Cassano to play on the pitch together?

LOL, I am one of the biggest Robinho fanboys as well. It's hard not to like him when he is soo hard working, same applies for Boateng actually.

But the thing that makes Robinho so good, is that he is an attacker AND he tracks back. For example, if we play Pato-Cassano-Ibra in attack, we have three players that don't track back / aren't good at track backing. That's why I think Robinho is so important to our defensive balance.

Personally, I would use Pato / Cassano / Ibra / Robinho / Inzaghi? ... in some sort of rotation system, without necessarily fielding Cassano and Binho at teh same time. Having these options is great for depth.

Midfield wise, it comes to the point where we MUST sign someone. Realistically speaking, it will be one of Aquillani or Montolivo. This way we can play two DM rotating MVB / Flamini / Gattuso / Ambrosini and one playmaker rotating Aquillani / Boateng / Cassano.

I agree with your post elmago, we definitely need a midfield signing and I also agree with the fact that robinho does give us a defensive balance he is a really important player for our team in many ways that go somewhat unnoticed, like his tracking back the way he moves with the ball opens up the pitch alot for some reason, not to mention 80% of the time when he can make an important dribble at the edge of the box he does.. His finishing over all has been poor but he stil managed to end the season with a good amount of goals

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Hitman - 08-14-2011

17 days left boys...........

Pastore, Fabregas have been eliminated from the Mr X race...

The unlikely but not impossible ones for this summer are Balotelli, Ganso and Hamsik...

The "I dont think Milan are considering them" options are Schweinsteiger and Bale...

The most likely Milan options are Montolivo, Aquilani and Kaka.

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Best-Pundit - 08-14-2011

Am I the only one who would be extremely happy to welcome Kaka back home? I am seriously hoping and praying that this Ganso guy goes to Madrid asap. That would mean Kaka for us & also some one like Higuaine, Benzema or maybe even Ozil in future will have a chance .....

This AC Milan team looks devastating for sure:

Abbiatti
Abate Nesta Silva Taiwo
Flamini MVB Boateng
Kaka
Ibrahimovic Pato

Key back ups:
Robinho, Cassano, Gattuso, Ambro, Mexes, Zambro, Seedorf

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Jay Crisp - 08-14-2011

Kaka has list that devastating pace , he has a great brain and fantastic vision and passing. But his lack of that pace and the fact he could injured very easily and be out for a long stretch is high.
Ganso is still learning and developing and is the same age now as Kaka was when came to us .Ganso has huge potential to get way better , Kaka is on a downward spiral , and signing names on the way down on big wages is what got us in trouble from 05-10.It simply is not the way forward , I love what Kaka did for us as much as anyone but it is not going to be a good signing.
If he stayed injury free and was playing like he was at his best then I'd welcome him back with tears of joy ...but he isn't.

If we are genuinely looking for a WC or a potential WC mid/AM then he really should be 20 - 25 either WC or clear potential to be WC .Hungry for major honors not someone who has won all there is to win very very injury probe not the player he was and on a downward spiral at 29..we need hungry fresh new young players not trying to recapture the past.

The difference between the Kaká of then and the Ganso of now, that Kaká was in high demand among the top European clubs at the time, while for Ganso there is not that much of an interest, despite the hype and him getting the No10 jersey in the Selecao. Well at least, it not seems to be much interest, apart from ours.

I wonder, what could be the reason for that? I'm not a Ganso expert, but at the Copa he seemed to lack pace... I mean, it could be that even this older Kaká has more pace than him.
