Kids these days in general are more impatient than most of the 80s 90s, and management still thinks in the classical way from the Maldini Totti era.

Where are they now? Besides Cristante, did their career get better after leaving, compared to the hype they had when they were here? Add Cutrone to that.

People were so upset when he left. Even went as far as to say the 18m we got was way too low. It turns out Serie B was his level

In recent years, there's been this expectation that if a player at 18/19 years old doesn't play regularly at the top level, they either suck or they need to get out immediately. I've seen ever single Primavera UEFA Youth League game....and I can say, imo, Simic is nowhere NEAR ready to be Milan's CB. Although, I agree that in the situations you described, he should have gotten minutes. Then again, does playing 25 minutes in a game against Slavia where we are 5-0 up really do or mean anything?
I can get on board with him not "wasting" a year in Serie C. Anything can happen. Some butcher in that division could literally sideline Simic for a year. So yea, I see why he wants to play higher level football. That football can't be in Milan though. Not with his current quality. So I don't understand why a loan wasn't pursued, rather an outright sale. As I said, I think a loan would have actually worked best FOR HIM.
25 minutes there, 25 minutes here... when he (or anyone else) play 5-6 or so games in continuity, we can say they got some chance. Than we can see better if someone is ready or not. Than either increase those minutes or send them back to primavera. To play someone 20 minutes one game than 5-10 games he don't play, than he get again 20 or so minutes - that's not "a chance". That's ridiculous. A mockery. Kalulu was also "shaky" during first 2-3 games (remember that outrageous penalty etc), but his luck was - there was no one else so Pioli was forced to play him and after a while he got pretty decent. Otherwise he would be benched again after first or second game and we would never get good-ish Kalulu we had. Than half of year or so later he regressed again, but that's another story.
Terracciano was banished from football after one mistake, but when "experienced" donkeys are doing same mistakes game after game after game - that's ok. No big deal...
Simic asked just to move, transfer or loan. So, maybe loan was pursued, but "right" opportunity didn't arose. Maybe Anderlecht didn't wanted to do loan, some other clubs did, but Anderlecht was most "appealing", so it ended as permanent transfer. But what's done, it's done. It's over now, no point in speculating... And I don't agree his quality is much worse than "quality" of some defenders we currently have and which are playing more or less regularly. Also not saying he's good enough to be regular starter, but for "playing formula" I mentioned above, he's for sure ready.
Look at Yamal kid. Introduced to first team at age of 16, at 17 he's regular. Went to senior national team, played 7 games(1 goal, 4 assists), won EURO. When there is talent, age doesn't matter. Camarda is similar age. So, why not introduce him into first team this season, especially if we don't sign anyone better than Morata (and we wont)? Italian league is not more "difficult" than Spanish. So, if a 16-17 years old kid can play there, why one can't play here? I'm not saying "Yamal" will happen to us, but we can't know if we don't try? It's just so easy to assume "he's not ready".
Remember all those "experts" which was warning Mihajlovic he's doing "a terrible mistake" because "$$$ is not ready for first team football" and it could "ruin his career before it even starts"...

I cant believe Auba was the last World Class(or near to it) player produced by this academy. I dont remember anyone else. I can certainly sense that Gabbia will break that jinx, blooming late like Acerbi.

Man United and Atletico has joined the Fofana pursuit, and we are of course fucked. We are so damn stingy! If we could stop negotiating for weeks over a few million we could have reached the deal before other teams with more capital joins the race. I bet my right nut, that we will also fuck up the Pavlovic deal because we cant give them de 20 million they want. We stop at 18, and lose the player team who have 100 X more pace than us in negotiations.

To be fair Kerkez is still only 20 years old, is valued at €20m and I've heard rumours linking him to Man Utd.

Even though we have agreed personal terms with Fofana, we're not gonig to get a cut-price deal from Monaco so we probably have to pay up or lose him. More conpetition every day.

I believe Cutrone was shocked when he was sold and never recovered from it, so I think it ruined his career. He could have had a much better career, in Serie A, in my opinion. Well, it is what it is.
