I still don't get why uncorrected translations are so common online, how much more effort is it to change a total of 10-15 letters.

As for the rumour itself a big NO. We already used up the quota of formers returning. I would be tempted to welcome back Sheva but that's it.

Just keep Pioli if plan is to replace him with similar or worse (Allegri) coach...

Allegri will go back to Juventus,if they sack Pirlo. And that's very likely given the circumstances

If we continue with this thread, we may as well change the title (drop 2019). Reza? Big Grin

So we'll replace the guy who after years of mediocrity has us in 2nd place in April? The guy who after years of mid-table finishes has us in prime position to get back to the CL? Even if he gets there we'll replace him?
That would be beyond idiotic. Elliot already proved competent when they kept him instead of making wholesale changes with Rangnick again. I'd imagine they won't turn incompetent 10 months later....

CL and Pioli has to stay.
No CL, we can talk. But again, it'll depend on the replacements available.

Yep. Makes total sense.

Pretty much this. I'll admit I'm still not convinced by Pioli as he's made some mistakes that I think have cost us games. That being said, how can you sack the guy who has us in 2nd with the team we've got.

you're talking about ibra here i guess, years of mediocrity had inzaghi, seedorf, montella, miha, brocchi as coaches ... so no praise will go to the coach here and in fact it's ibra who made it

nope at all ... i would happily welcome someone like tassotti and sheva partnership to take charge .... some real professionals who know what it needs and takes

RE: Milan next Head Coach 2019 rumors - nefremo - 04-06-2021

Continuity is very important. Stability is something we haven't had in ages. You can give some of the credit to Ibra. Hell, give a lot of the credit to Ibra if you want. But Pioli has to get some as well. His handling of the group and the atmosphere he's created is very important.

I am not making an argument that Pioli is a better coach then "insert name". I am saying that right now, he seems to have handled the group well. We are playing intense football (when we are fit and not when we have 50% of starters out), we are on schedule to qualify for the CL for the 1st time in ages, we have young players constantly improving and some even becoming world class, the group is happy, etc, etc. For the 1st time in ages, it seems everyone is working towards a common goal. Everyone seems to be on the same page. Players, coach, management, ownership. Results are there for all to see.

If this period ends with a qualification to the CL...then I see zero reason to break all that up and start from scratch....again. It would be the most idiotic thing to do from our management.
If we miss out, then we can discuss. That's only because us missing out on top 4 will mean that the last 9 games of the season will have been pretty bad, and therefore Pioli will have likely lost the locker room by May. We'll see. At that point we'll be talking about a different situation.

I see many people out there referencing Inter and Spaletti and how they got rod of him even if he got them in the CL. But the situations are NOT the same. 1st of all, there isn't a coach of Conte's caliber even available. Second, we are a team on the upswing. They were a team in shambles and internal problems. Internal arguments and fights all over between coach and players, coach and management, etc. So they qualified for the CL with 10 minutes of the season to go. It wasn't like our situation. They saw an opportunity in Conte and took it.

Again, we are not in that same situation. Actually, it could not be any more different.

About Tassotti and Sheva. They've done well at for the Ukraine national side. But club football is a different animal. Also, I can't get over the fact that Tassotti has been an assistant all his life. Nobody has given him the the power of being the main guy. Is there a reason for that? I don't know. But O'm a little tired of rookie coaches starting their career at Milan. We've been burnt more then a few times with that. And no, Tassotti is not a rookie coach, but he'd be a rookie "head" coach.

Sheva, I don't know. It would be awesome to him he back here and succeed as a coach. But I'm sorry I'm hesitant. Again....he's never coached a club. He would practically be a rookie in the club world. Not saying he won't succeed. Who knows. But again, we've been burnt already. Several times.
