The thought seems to be Aqualani is more promising than Monty.Aqua is 27 going on 28 he isn't suddenly going to become Pirlo of 2001-2007..it's twelve million that could be better spent , on who idk but Aqualani has never consistently been a very good player , and in all honesty we need a consistent WC midfielder with creative ability.
Hernanes Cesc Pastore Schweiny Ganso ? Those type of players.Aqualani to me is a signing we made between 2004-2008 players that were just names and made no real difference to our play.the emersons gilardinos oliveiras , now is the time to get that 20-25 year quality midfielder , as with FFP we certainly don't make enough to spend a big amount on 1 player.

From the players you mentioned, the only realistic targets are Ganso and Hernanes.
None of them are world class yet. But I will agree that Hernanes is more consistent than Aquillani.

Hernanes is probably the best CM in Italy other than Sneidjer. If Lazio is selling him, Milan must get him. Even if he will cost 25 mil bc it is worth it.

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Jay Crisp - 08-09-2011

Are those 2 realistic. Not world class yet but a good bit better than Aqua and Monty.
We seem to be linked with no1 complete silence this could be a good thing .I do know that without midfield players new ones , the best we can hope for in the CL is last 16 realistically ofcourse we could get a piss easy draw but unlikely.
Seedorf cannot be relied on consistently just can't happen , beside him none of our midfielders have any creativity style or a brain that just does things instinctively . Not a 1.I don't think Aqualani or Montolivo will change that in games against the better sides in the league , or any seeded CL team.Which is exactly what we need a player that can run the midfield from a creative point.

I would rate Hernanes WC, anyhow, having Hernanes will be a huge step forward for Milan.
For those who think Milan will make it into the round of 16 for sure, do remember that Milan is in Pool B thus, they must play against one of Barca, Real, ManU, Chelsea, Porto, Arsenal and Bayern, if thhe latter two qualify. Then there are teams like ManCity, Schalde...

I think with Milan current luck and UEFA hatred towards Serie A. Milan will most likely draw a Spainish and English teams in the group stages. Imagine Milan gets Barca, ManCity and Rangers.

Rangers has actually been knocked out of Champions League by Malmö FF, Zlatan's home club. Okmilan

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Jay Crisp - 08-09-2011

That is true .Barca City in a group is possible schalke real also.If there is no investment , I hope we are told why and not just fed we are complete and competitive.
In thinking Berlus fine has put the breaks on any budget we had.
If that's the case then it's bad , it's one thing being naive and not investing. It's a totally different thing NOT being able to invest.

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - HO-YOUNG - 08-09-2011

No disrespect to Monolivo and Aquilani... but these guys are no where near Ganso and Hernanes when it comes to creativity... and Creativity is what Milan needs... Ganso is a sure 12-14 goals per season from midfield and Hernanes is a proven consistent provider and goal scoring Mid that Milan NEEDS!!!! never mind their defensive qualities... we have 80% squad of DMs

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Gabriel426 - 08-09-2011

I really think Milan will end up in a group of death in CL. Unless Udin knocks Arsenal out of CL, then Milan should be back in Pool A, thus avoiding a top side. If Cesc is indeed gone from Arsenal, Udin might just be able to beat them.

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Jay Crisp - 08-09-2011

Udinese will not knock out Arsenal even with no Cesc or Nasri.Inler Zapatta Sanchez gone is huge .
Yip Hernanes 10 goals and about the same assists Ganso IDK he has not played in Serie A but it is very good...the 2 Italians ah man I'd love if they were great but their not between the 2 they wouldn't get 10 assists let alone goals.
