I think the issue with Hamsik yesterday was how Napoli played as a whole. Their counter-attacking plan was straight out the window because they conceded early. From then on their shape completely changed. It was hard to express yourself in that set-up. It is no wonder Zuniga and Maggio did well because of where they play. It wasn't a game in which Napoli kept much possession (33% at one point IIRC), and given that, Lavezzi did superbly. Of course, a great player should somehow get in the game, but you can't be too hard on Hamsik.

The thing is, I am watching quiet a bit of Napoli games lately... and I am yet to see a game where he shines through / carries the team on his shoulders.
Imho, lately Lavezzi / Cavani / Maggio are much better performers.
If Hamsik isn't even the biggest star in his own team, why should Milan splash out 20+ mil for him?

There is some overrating going on in my opinion, I said that about him back at the World Cup and a bit before it too. He will improve the current midfield but I don't expect a big difference maker.

Oh I don't think we should splash the cash for him. I was just stating that yesterday's game was a bit different.
I am honestly worried about whether or not Thiago Silva will stay with us. I don't think he will to be honest. His comments have been ambiguous and non-committal. I believe he will be sold this summer or in 2013 if we're lucky. As milannews said today, wiith the imminent (hopefully) departures of Gattuso, Seedorf, etc. we need a solid core of players with their hearts set on playing for Milan. I believe Thiago Silva is not committed to the club.

It seems to me the past 2-3 years that EVERYONE wants to play for Real Madrid or Barca. If they can't make the cut, they go to City or Chelsea.
I don't know but buying a big time midfielder, and keep Robinho & Pato.. and one would assume T. Silva would be happy.... If he were to leave we'd be in serious, serious trouble.

I share your sentiment Hasan. He never said or implied that he wanted to leave. But his recent interview where he said something about wanting to wear the captain armband someday reminds me of Sheva and Kaka who said something similar, you know, about the honor of being a leader in a prestigious club like Milan, wanted to emulate Maldini and stuff.
But let's worry about that if and when he leaves.

I think the only way to have players that will stay commited to the team forever is simply if they are italian.. look at barcelona, you can guarentee iniesta,xavi,busquets and puyol will all stay with the club simply because its in spain and the team they pllay for is also making their country proud.. just like how pirlo gattuso ambro abbiati and co dedicated most their careers to us..you can't realy count on a foreign player to spend his entire career in milan..
