On top of that, he scores around 10 goals for a midfielder while also making the same amount of assists. I do rate Hernanes a better player but thats not to say Cesc is a bad player by any means.

As for my second part, the point is that the LCM for Milan does not need to be someone like Pirlo who dictates the game that way. It could be someone who also dictate the game but with different ways. Point is, the LCM does not need to be someone who sit and spread passes but rather he could be someone who links up well with other players with good off the ball movement of his own.
Should we all be happy that instead of going for Scholes, Milan is getting either Montolivo or Aqualini.

If your opinion is Hernanes is better then that's fair enough. I agree, Hernanes dictates games for Lazio an is integral to the side (as he was in Brazil).

How a player dictates the game depends on the individual, as no two players are ever the same. We shouldn't look for another Pirlo (I agree with you completely there), and Allegri's system will be more dependant on the LCM's movement (on and off the ball) than having a single reference point within the side to dictate matches (i.e. Pirlo).

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - el fre - 08-03-2011

I agree that Cassano is great. Our 4-man attack is great and we shouldn't sell anybody. If we sell him, we need to buy somebody else...3-man attack is not enough...when Pato gets injured, we'll be in trouble..

Besides, of our 4 attackers, he's the only one who can provide with assists...
Remember last year, when Ibra decided to stop collecting goals, and started collecting red cards, it was Cassano who steped up and, in my opinion, brought us the scudetto...He was really decisive then...

He must be given a whole season...
As it is, our attack is, well honestly, perfect...Different players with different characteristics..

Midfield is the issue. Lack of creativity. Must not sell one of our most creative players..

If Henderson and Downing is 20M, Cassano is at least 30M. He's great, why can't all of you see it.

I can he is a great talent but is out of shape still after 8 months he isn't fat our anything quite from it , but his cardiovascular activity well it looks like he has none or else his boots are made from metal.
I don't know what it is but he looks tired after 5 mins of running.

So get him in shape, not sell him.

That's why we have MilanLab

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - ElMago99 - 08-03-2011

MilanLab sucks by the way....

In regards to our 'Mister X', we have been waiting for the end of the transfer market to find deals/negotiate our best price. However, this will not always work. Just because it worked last year with Ibrahimovic & Robinho who had BLOWOUTS with their respective clubs, doesn't mean it will happen every summer. Another thing is that it is important to find a player who fits in your technical plan, as opposed to finding cheap buys. This just pisses me off that Milan are so cheap that it really is starting to make them look silly in the market. It's early August and still we're missing (2) midfielders in this squad as we're not good enough now.

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Nalx - 08-03-2011

I really think that Ganso was our main target this summer, and the only one that's affordable by our financial strength. But the plan, at least for the time being, broke down because he expectedly failed to reach the level he was before the injury. That leaves us to the distant "plan B" in Schweinsteiger or Fabregas who not only are more expensive but also harder to get. That's why I think Galliani, while watching Ganso's performance in the next six months, blabs about Mr. x doesn't necessarily mean an already proven star and will eventually settle for "plan C" players in Montolivo or Aquilani.

I don't like it anymore than you but this thing happens. Just like Gasp wasn't exactly Merda's 1st or 2nd choice either.

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - ZvonimirBoban - 08-03-2011

I'll try to be optimistic with this transfer window:

Our squad is already good enough as it is now, we should concentrate on preparing Serie A first matches, and with good teamwork we'll win Serie A again, and go far in Europe if we get some nice draws.

Spoken like a true Uncle Fester Smile

BTW, when is the draw for CL groups?

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Gabriel426 - 08-03-2011

Really wish Milan can face Barca in the Group stages that way they can avoid them till the semi.

There are the third qualifying rounds still to be played, than the play offs before the draw is made.
