So, even though it sucks, I'd rather move forward this way and save some money for January. Who knows...priorities may change by then and we may be in need of something totally different. It'd be nice to have some cash to address any issues that come up in the 1st 4 months of the season.
I agree with you except one thing, our first 4 months will be tougher than last years because of the more competitive Serie A and a very difficult Champions League group stage! If something happens to Diaz we will be in a more emergency situation!

James Rodriguez expected to land in Milan tomorrow for medicals. I guess we ditched Faivre if that's the case? Too bad because that Faivre looked like something special.

All rumors currently point to Messias from Crotone. Not a terrible player. But far from the quality we need. Also, 30 year old. I hope we don't give hine a big/long contract. I can just see all of us begging for him to be sold a year from now...only that none of the small clubs will be able to afford his salary.
I don't know about James. The rumor came out of nowhere and hasn't really been confirmed by anyone reputable. As if now, it appears to only a twitter insider thing.

Messias seems like a desperate last option for us & easy to close as he's in Italy. Faivre seems like a very exciting player and it's really too bad if don't sign him, he is like Eden Hazard.
I hope the James reports are not solid similar to Isco they are both finished players.

Messias would be a laughably bad choice. The guy literally goes against every single policy we have established as a team, over priced, old, not a high level talent and have no resume to speak of. If that's the direction we are going toward, why not just sign James? On his worst day, James is still a better player than Messias.
As far as Faivre is concerned, I haven't watched him before so I can't say if he is a top level talent or not. But this has the look of another situation where we insist on negotiating over a couple of million euros and lose out on a top level talent like we did so many times before already. I get that we like to hold the line when it comes to player valuations, but losing out on Faivre only to spend money on Messias is a complete and total moronic move. The couple of million we "saved" will look more than silly in a year or two.
