Believe it or not, these so call transfer fees is not the reason why big clubs are in debt, rather these transfer fees are actually helping small teams from debt.
What causes clubs to go to debt is CL with its TV rights and UEFA rules. If the diff of CL football or no CL football is not that great, teams probably won't be arming themselves every season to get to CL even if it means over inflating the market. The rumor 6+5 rule is also another reason why clubs are over paying for domestic players, thus inflating the foreign players prices, while also forcing teams to pay huge amounts for huge talents at a very young age in order for the home grown status.

Guys problem solved. Sell Bonera+Oddo for $40mil (at least) And get whomever you wish.

I still wouldnt mind Diego coming from germany. I reallly like that guy, and his time in Juve doesnt count.

Im not that worried as years before, I really think that WORST case we will do great in italy and we should at the very least get to the final 8 in the CL. But I do think we should be making the moves slowly to get to finals in the next 2-3 years. I really think that's a very realistic outlook.

In a way you are right but also it's not that 'simple'. A good example is Porto, not a huge team but a team who has had some (recent) success in Europe. Start for example from their Mourinho era, add up all the transfer money they made from then up until now. If it were that simple they should be one of the richest in all of Europe.

For Italy there's a bunch more than one problem. I think Warro posted an excellent article on the subject.

A large part of the issue is attendance. In Germany they have full stadiums even in 2nd divisions games. Attendance generates good revenue for clubs and is part of the reason why Italy lost their CL spot.

What I said was in general, transfer fees actually is helping small clubs to finance itself then hurting them. I think each teams and leagues has it's own share of problems. I think taxation is a problem in Italy and England. TV rights is another. Teams not owning their stadiums. And the list goes on and on.

Juve are going to be stronger than all Italian teams financially in a couple of year's with the new self owned stadium.But only if the spending gets them to the CL.Spending spending spending and no CL even with their own satdium won't be good.
With prolonged CL football and reaching 1/4 or semi's will have them very healthy financially.

Galli and CO have been quiet very quiet a little too quiet.I hope it's the calm before the storm , this storm being a few quality additions.I'm going through peaks and valley's as in some day's I think we'll sign fup all and other's I think we'll surprise people.

i'm a bit surprised that no one has mentioned our alleged offer for Fabregas yet...
as reported in England, it seems Arsenal were waiting for an improved offer from Barca yesterday and instead received a EUR 40Mio offer from Milan!!!

i don't know if that is true, but it sure is interesting to follow... Smile
