I think squad depth (at a higher level than we have now) and rotation is needed. Just look at the squads of some of the teams we will compete with in CL.

It's just not good enough to have to use a Ballo Toure, a Krunic, a Bakayoko and so on just because your "starter" is absent because of injury or disciplinary reasons.

I understand the temptation to chill and be "we are fine as we are", given Kalulu's performances. But would you guys be really comfortable going into a brand new season with Kalulu and Tomori as the only solid CB pairing? I say solid with a pinch of salt because is there a guarantee Kalulu will continue on that path without faltering? Remember how young he is? All it takes is one or two stumble and suddenly everyone is on him and we know how much damage that can be for a kid. Why won't we allow him grow gradually, in peace, without burning him out?

Also, me mentioning "Kalulu-Tomori" as the only solid pairing is without prejudice to Kjaer because who knows in what conditions he's coming back? Would he be back to his pre-injury best? What about his age?

So are we willing to give up on good, solid, experienced CBs like Botman/Bremer? We might come to regret it and start a search all over again, probably coughing out larger amounts of money or settling for less quality.

Personally I think we should get Botman or Bremer. Release Romagnoli, send Gabbia on loan. Kalulu can continue his growth in peace, covering both the CB and RB positions. I'm sure he will get a lot of games between CL, Seria A and the Coppa.

what about daichi kamada as am position

RE: Summer Mercato 2022 - Codazzi - 03-21-2022

First thing first, we have to buy a RW. That is a freaking must. It should be followed by a CF if Zlatan is leaving. Only then we can look for a CB. And if we spend all the money on attacking positions, it is what it is. We have to believe in Gabbia.

Summer Mercato 2022 - Inas - 03-21-2022

I don't even count Zlatan again. We need a striker irrespective of whether Zlatan sign a renewal or not. But it seems we've gotten Origi on a free and I think that's not a bad thing. Takes care the striker situation. We now have to tackle the CD, RW, and AMC. Adli is coming in so I doubt management will splash on the AMC position. So that leaves the RW and CB. A 70m budget can do it. Question is, can we expect a 70m/80m budget?

RE: Summer Mercato 2022 - Bennacer - 03-21-2022

Origi is getting closer and closer. Interesting signing. I remember when he broke through in Lille. He was possibly the worlds greatest talent at that time. He has a lot to offer. Great physical strength, good pace, good finishing and decent enough teqnique. His versatility is just a big plus.

I think this is a great signing ,especially for free. Maybe the salary of 4 million is a little high, but it is like that when a player is on free transfer.

Exiting to follow this move.

RE: Summer Mercato 2022 - Sleeping Giant - 03-21-2022

Why even riding on Zlatan's bandwagon in 2021, he cannot even play 10 games a season w/o getting injured. He is just for market purpose in the team.
It is Giroud + new CF.

Big RW signing needed, Sanches and a Kalulu esque defender and Udogie/Parisi homegrown Italian LB

RE: Summer Mercato 2022 - xudong - 03-21-2022

I don't think anybody is counting on Zlatan now. Even Zlatan isn't counting on Zlatan anymore. I think he has accepted the reality that age has finally caught up on him. Icon_lol2

RE: Summer Mercato 2022 - Sampinjon - 03-21-2022

It seems that Dybala asked for 8M per season and was said to fOff and now definitely leaving Juventus on free this summer. It seems that we're not only club which have to deal with "reasonable salary requests"...
